Shamelessly sentimental at times, “The Dog House: UK” is the kind of show that will make a lot of viewers want to adopt a dog, or another dog, of their own. ... All reality television should be so full of humanity. And dogs.

The programme’s strengths lie in its compassionate eye for a human story, and how it carefully pairs that with a canine one.

The Dog House: UK is a light and sweet diversion from all the cynical reality series out there. It would fit really well on Animal Planet, which is a high compliment for a show like this.
