The show doesn’t provide an easy path to absolution that buying from one supplier will bring about justice or that withholding business from another will cause an industry-wide sea change. But like the best documentary efforts, it puts forth these stories with the idea that a more informed audience is a healthier one.

The dramatic trimmings are there to dress up Rotten’s main mission: exposing the effects of greedy corporate practices on small businesses, farms and unsuspecting consumers, and the series does a solid job in achieving that goal. The setup here can be repetitive and over-explanatory at times.

Obviously, this stuff is all biased to the left, and anti free market. The personal accounts are still good and the production quality is very good. The Commies still win as the moral of the stories, but there is some balanced opinion that suggests that some of what governments do, might be bad or make things worse, even for the Commies/Liberals that have to live with the results. This series is good for people that have some semblance of critical thinking who can understand that governement is good in extremely limited ways, so the series is not good for about half or more of US viewers. If you are Singaporean, Japanese, Hong Konean, or a citizen of the city states in Europe, then this might be entertaning for you. For the rest of America, it’s a crap-shoot.
