The show keeps things moving, so it never gets too bogged down in teen angst or ponderous speechifying. But by the penultimate episode, viewers will be wishing Ragnarok would hurry up and resolve its central plot, or at least give a better reason to come back for more. Even at a mere six episodes (five of which were available for review), it feels like a two-hour YA movie expanded past its breaking point.

After i saw the trailer i had to force myself to watch it. Expecting some standard Teenage Drama. While it is to a degree it does so with such a refreshing non Hollywood touch and good character development. Woven in with respectful understanding of Nordic mythology and great on location filmed landscape. If you know the history there are tons of "eastereggs" to find. It is a slow burn well worth a watch. Can not wait for season 2.

É uma série bem no estilo drama e romance adolescente na escola mas com aquela pitada de mitologia nórdica. Não é a série do ano, mas é bem legal de se passar uma **** assistindo...

So I stumbled on Ragnarok while hunting for something new on Netflix, and gave it a shot without too much thought as to quality. I do admit to being pleasantly surprised that it kept my attention. At first I must admit I was a bit worried that it would follow either the twilight route, or the usual politically correct route of movies these days. The lesbian girlfriends, the gay brother, and the popular kids having a token from every ethnicity, all made me grown with the, "oh no not again with yet another politically correct movie" aspect. Thankfully, it does not go into too much depth with that. While a bit slow at times, it does focus more on Magnus coming to grips with his strange powers, and how they affect life in this unusual Norwegian town. Toward the end it becomes fully engrossed in what people who enjoy a fantasy TV series with actually want. And then of course it ends way too early after only the 6th episode. All in all, if you are a fantasy/science fiction fan, you should get a kick out of the show at the very least for some simple entertainment. That being said, The brother dressing up as a woman and pretending to be the school principal at the end made no sense at all, but then again it is Norwegian film so.... Lol
