As intriguing as Debris‘ central mystery is now, it could easily wear thin if the producers run out of ideas too quickly; I can’t really envision yet how this can be sustained across multiple seasons. But for now, at least, it’s a helluva fun ride. It’s rare for a network to hit us with something as smart and strange and ambitious as this. So let’s enjoy it while we can.

Taken as a whole, Debris may ultimately struggle to soar beyond its most familiar and predictable components. But, at least based on the pilot, its best qualities may make it better suited for this moment right now than you'd expect.

An amazing new show in the hands of an excellent show runner. Wyman has given us “Fringe” and “Almost Human”. It is perfectly cast with Jonathan Tucker and Riann Steele. Each episode gets better. Episode 9- I’ve never seen a better episode anywhere involving time jumping and reality!

This is one of the best new shows I've seen in a long time, and I predict it will be one of the best of all shows in 2021. Intrigue, suspense, action, drama, mystery; Debris has it all! I binged 8 episodes in 2 days and eagerly await the next two episodes! The cast is spot on! Each is the the perfect choice for their character. While Debris is not a successor to The X-Files or Fringe, it has many of the best elements of both. Any sci-fi fan should find Debris a feast of story and entertainment!

Despite all the woo-woo, I'm rooting for Debris and hope it can keep its eye on the skies instead of the routine conspiratorial rabbit holes. [10 - 23 May 2021, p.8]

This latest attempt to create a mystery-fueled drama falls a bit flat.

We like Tucker and Steele’s chemistry and there’s potential for the stories of the week to strongly support the greater mystery as the season goes forward. But it could also collapse under its own weight. At this point, we’re just not sure which way it’ll go.

The premiere admirably drops viewers into the deep end, eschewing much of the typical set-up for what feels more like a third or fourth episode, but it also suffers a bit from superficial, manipulative writing, and an over-familiarity that could make it a tough sell.

The show feels disconnected from itself, like it's already on autopilot.

Started slow but turning out to be one of the best new series! So many B-plot options and can't wait to see where main story lines goes.

All of the ingredients are here, the premise, the characters, the special effects. But the rote plot development, hyperbolic and simplistic writing, and over-reliance on standard sci-fi and procedurals tropes do not bode well for this series. We need more shows like this. I want this one to succeed. I don't think it will.

Six episodes in and I wonder where this is going. Each episode starts with an interesting premise. Within a few minutes, the hugely mundane main characters scratch their heads, get emotional over something, and not using any science whatsoever, solve the mystery. Oh, and there's bad guys, who seem to do nothing bad. The good guys have video and photos for gosh knows everything, but they can't seem to use them to any advantage. It also makes no sense to mix Brits and Americans. It just confuses everything. Can be really good, but quite a bit needs reworking. Don't see a season 2 happening.

The show builds on an interesting idea, but the writing and acting is just terrible.

Special effects interesting! Main characters bored me to tears. Acting and scripted questionable. Turned channel half way. If you can’t hold my interest, a lost cause.
