Big Mouth works because it’s unflinchingly honest. Whether it’s mining twisted jokes or universal human experiences, the whole concept comes together because it consistently tells the truth.

If Big Mouth were just a series of jokes about how weird and gross puberty is, it wouldn’t be much more than a decent way to kill some time during a slow weekend. But the show achieves a new, deeper level of comedy by remaining hyper aware of the fact that puberty isn’t just about bodies changing, but about what it means to grow up at all.

This show is brilliant. Clearly not for everyone but easily one of my favorite shows in years -- insanely well done, hilarious, humane (and yes, totally raunchy) take on teen years.

There’s a frankness and honesty beneath the show’s raunchiness that sometimes echo the best work of Judy Blume and other great chroniclers of adolescent angst, especially where the fraught and seldom-discussed feelings of boys are involved. It’s charming and repulsive all at once.

The new Netflix series Big Mouth is a frank, very funny coming-of-age story.

Sweet, progressive and breathtakingly filthy, the latest collaboration between comedians Nick Kroll and John Mulaney recalls the emotionally grounded squirminess of the boys of Freaks and Geeks and the sex-positive yet debasement-obsessed endocrinological chaos of, well, nothing I've ever seen.

As over the top as some of the bits are, Big Mouth is likely to strike a chord of remembrance in adult viewers. If so, the memories probably won’t be quite as filthy or funny as they are here.

Simply put, this show is beautiful. It's witty, funny, honest and very close to real life. It's an uncensored perfectly written gold mine. I Guarantee if you watch this show you'll laugh several times and relate to the show back when you were a teen and going through puberty. The voice acting is perfect and every character has depth. Great, just great.

I generally liked the show, the humor and jokes are honest and funny. The only downfall for me was the musical numbers on every episode, maybe if there was just one in the season I would have been fine like ah its just a parody of modern kids shows. But it got a bit extreme when every episode has a 2-3 minute long musical number. Otherwise I think the show is pretty good

A dirtier version of South Park. Actually funny at times, but sometimes overly gross. It is entertaining at best. Not a fan of the animation. The voice actors should sound more like kids instead of adults.

I have to admit I watched the show twice, simply because I couldn't accept the way I understood it. The humour looks like something made for a 12yo boy while the graphics are too much adult for it, the story is just not deep enough and I swear I saw so many 4th wall breaks with no sense that I'll not watch deadpool 2 on the release date. I counted the higher number of musicals per season on a no-disney tv show, and they were not that good, the melody was poor or a simple copy and so was the lyrics. Anyway, the show has some funny moments if you're in the 12-15yo age, but you will probably be mad for wasting your time

I really don't understand the hype of this show. Most of us enjoy dirty humor especially when it's cleverly layered into a t.v show, but that isn't what Big Mouth is. It's just 5 second loops of **** and **** jokes and riding on famous people references and events you will relate too. One example is the ghost of Justice Antonin Scalia tells one of the characters he's gay...that's it. The punchline is of course in life he was anti-gay and famous for it. Really the only character that gave me a laugh was that hormone monster. The rest was cheap comedy. Please stop comparing it to Rick and Morty.
