The acting is effective, the direction by Alexandre Franchi is confident, and the cinematography by Claudine Sauve could hardly look more assured.

Those wearing black finger-polish are bound to appreciate it, but first-time feature director Alexandre Franchi deserves mainstream cred for his own cheeky role-play.

Finally a film that captures the essence of Icelandic myth! The slow burn of the tension rising gave me the chills. I am eagerly waiting for a sequel from those filmmakers.

More entertaining in concept than execution. What starts as geek comedy gradually slides into a familiar morality play about the savagery beneath the veneer of civility.

This is a masterful movie. Not only is it funny and serious but it leaves an impression. Different from the usual films made, it will make you laugh and haunt your dreams. Definitely recommended.

seek this movie out, but don't read anything about it. i saw it not knowing anything and it was definitely one of the most refreshing things i saw all this year. i hope the filmmakers involved go on to make more funny/intriguing/thrilling movies like this one

I am a fan of LARPing and Renaissance Faires and have always wanted to see a quality film that takes place against such a background. After watching dozens of such films, I believe this could be the best made thus far. It's an emotional rollercoaster that slowly builds steam and then descends at breakneck speed towards its thrilling conclusion.
