Sister Act 2 doesn't challenge Goldberg, but it's a marvelous showcase, nonetheless, for one of the screen's most likable personalities. [10 Dec 1993, p.C1]

More than any of the sappy writing ever does, their collective presence reminds us that any church is about community. The film is tired and trite, but they're terrific, every last one of them. [10 Dec 1993, p.53]

What's strange about Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit is that it abandons most of what people liked about the first movie and replaces it with a formula as old as the hills.

Lacks the charm and buoyancy that made the first "Act" a mass-appeal hit

Those who like stale, formula-driven comedies with sickeningly-sweet happy endings, not to mention unbelievably-contrived plots, will find Sister Act 2 an example of good entertainment.

It is shockingly devoid of any shred of originality and imagination. [10 Dec 1993]

A crass and confused cash-in on the inexplicable success of last summer's "Sister Act," Sister Act 2 is utterly lacking in the silly, sassy spark -- and even skimps on the sunny, semi-sacrilegious girl-group hymns -- that made the original a smash.

not as good as the first one but still very good. the people who red rate that movie have lost hope and are basically karens. it's about saving the covent which is a teaching covent. dolores teaches music and helps kids realise themselves. it's fun to watch but again it isnt a one woman show. the only part i don't like is the rap in the movie but it does make sense... besides i strongly belive the movie is funnier in french
