Fairly entertaining documentary about a big band with big songs and big problems.

2 hours about the origins of the essential british band of 90s. All about their experience on and off stage, and the little told family story and rough bond between Liam and Noel. A must to see for fans.

In my opinions one of the greatest bands of their time and one of my favourites. Their moment came and went like many other artists. The fact they look back upon it and realize it was a moment and don’t show regret is astonishing. They appreciate their moment. Some try too hard to recreate moments they once had (Madonna) and others are fine with where they’re at. There is no reunion tour for a cash grab they just move forward and I respect that. I’m glad I got to see them live once before they broke up.

As a young teenager in Canada at the time that Live Forever first came out I was struck by the wonderment and aggression and celebration of life that was folded into the heavy drums, wall of distorted guitar and choir boy vocals upon my first listen over the radio. That sense of wonderment, excitement and aggression of the bands early days is the focus of the movie. Since that first listen I have always had a very special place in my heart for the Gallagher's and crew. The movie is meant for fanboys like myself and the one-time screening was full of others such as myself who laughed giddily at the antics of the brothers who were both self-destructive and epic in equal measure. The movie wisely chose to only focus on the early years of the first two albums instead of the mostly inferior production downslide of the third album onward. Mainly for fans, the movie is especially novel for those of us in N.A. who it seems, although loving the music, never really experienced the years long media malestrom the public were subject to back in the U.K. Non fans would of course get less out of it. The editing and post production graphics were great, sometimes serving to translate the somewhat thick Manchester accents. Bloody good time.
