(Mauro Lanari)
Impressive to see how the Jews in '42, '44 and '45, in the very midst of roundups and deportations, still tried to frivolously lead an obtuse bourgeois life, deceiving themselves about the possibility of saving themselves alone or thanks to their unmentionable God: both adults and their daughters were convinced that they could exile to Switzerland or put on lipstick, play in the secret room, get pregnant and plan their own future. And it is equally impressive that a similar reaction is taking place during the current global crisis.

This is a fabulous fabulous movie and story, there already many of Anne Frank biopic movie out there but it's quite strange that nobody ever told the story about her best friend Hanneli Goslar which her story is not far fascinating than Anne Frank story, and i was so glad finally somebody came up with the idea and recognize it, My Best Friend Anne Frank can be a great yet heartbreaking example of real and true friendship, praise to Aiko Beemsterboer for her potrayal as Anne Frank because she is so good, but the one that more than so good, she is mesmerising, she was incredible, and she was Josephine Arendsen as Hanneli Goslar herself, she was just too good, the tension, the music, and especially how they decided to put the timeline of the story not straight forward from the beginning till the end, but from the past to present then go back to the past and so on, and it works perfectly and it didn't messed up the care feeling that i have on both Anne and Hanneli, overall My Best Friend Anne Frank is another heartbreaking **** era movie but it's also another Schindler's List, so just watch the movie, it's fantastic.
