Liquid Sky has always been caught smack between delirious curio, avant-garde put-on, exploitation cheapie, and naive masterpiece.
75
Outrageous fun, this film is New Wave chic, satire, self-parody, science fiction, and certainly one of the more accessible independent features ever made.
70
It's the overall resourcefulness of Mr. Tsukerman and his talented colleagues that gives Liquid Sky its high style. Visually bright and arresting, with a varied and insinuating electronic score, the film is full of eye-catching images.
70
A bizarre, often hilarious melee of weird drugs, weird sex and off-the-wall camp.
60
Knowingly kitsch, Liquid Sky uses the most basic effects and featuring music and fashion that were cutting edge at the time, it now looks fashionably retro. With lots of sex and violence, it sounds a lot more promising than it is, let down by its poor acting, script and a cast we feel little sympathy for.
60
Liquid Sky is an odd, yet generally pleasing mixture of punk rock, science fiction, and black humor.

Director Slava Tsukerman doesn't have any new ideas, though this 1982 feature does improve on some old ones, notably its use of a rapid parallel montage technique to enliven the ancient Warholian comedy of boredom and underreaction by cutting to different characters and different shticks.

It's pure trash. Just like the degenerates who play in it. It's a feminist woke crap movie, filled with hatred of men and masculinity in general. This garbage film it's nothing but a propaganda for homosexuality, transdegenerate filth, lesbianism, sexual fornication, ****, drugs, murder. Truly disturbing and sickening, there is really nothing to it, except an extremely sad example of a horrifyingly mentally ill society. It's dark, it's evil, it's garbage. I certainly don't recommend watching this filth. I've been curious because I thought it might be an alien sci-fi movie, but boy was I wrong. I have waisted my time watching this disgusting junk. Do yourself a favor and stay away!
