Chicago Sun-Times
A film with a rich and convincing texture, a drama with power and anger.

The Hollywood Reporter
For all its biographical truth, Get Rich's journey into a ghetto of hustlers, gangstas and mindless violence is all too familiar.

People are insane for not liking this early bio pic movie about 50's rise to **** and his early life struggles. Would recommend this to anyone even if you dont care about rap or hip hop its just a great movie on its own

You'd need to know about Fifty cent's life to enjoy this film, but I thought it was great. It's an extremely tense film and one I would recommend to any other Fifty cent fans.

50 Cent sounds articulate in his raps, but as a lead actor, he talks like his mouth is filled with food.

Film Threat
Too much of the time, Jackson is a complete blank, like he's bored with his own story.

The New York Times
The parts of Get Rich or Die Tryin' that feel most genuine have to do with friendship and family, rather than with criminal intrigue. But the movie ultimately lacks an emotional core. It will certainly make 50 Cent even richer, but it wouldn't have killed him to try a bit harder.

Premiere
Unstylized, inconsistent, unconvincing, and familiar to a fault.

I thought it was a great documentary of his life. Yes there were something change to make it more interesting for the big screen, but the basic outline was there. It was also a good look into the streets and what goes on out there.

50 Cent was brilliant and Terence Howard was epic. Get Rich Or Die Tryin' is one of the best films of the year, period. Jim Sheridian has done a great job directing and 50 Cent rocks in acting. A story about ghettos, drug wars and violence that will effect a man's son. The raw debut by 50 Cent was perfect and the songs were great as well. People think its a waste of time and a negative society movie, but this film is hard hitting and powerful with sadistic violence that made me cry till the end. Such a emotional film that its excellent. The story is powerful and the ghetto story, goes deep down into the gangs of power. Portrayal was beautiful and acting was breathtaking. Maybe not for the soft hearted but for the lovers out there- Get Rich Or Die Tryin' is the most engaging films in history.

I really see a lot of bad reviews and I'm going to be honest it's not the best movie. We all know that. But it's not that bad.... Yes it feels like an 8 mile 50 cent ripoff. But it's really not that bad. Conclusion: If you want to watch a great gangsta movie...just watch it. If you're a big 50 cent fan...just check it out. If you don't feel like watching a 1h40 of a fairly unbelievable drama... just don't watch.
