Finch

Finch feels downright innovative, boldly trusting that Tom Hanks training a robot to take care of his dog in a post-cataclysm Earth is a sentiment sweet and humane enough to carry an entire movie.

Perfectly balancing tense drama with charming humor, Finch highlights the best and worst of humanity, and a robot-dog friendship worth remembering.

Among the charms of Finch is its willingness not to overexplain, trusting our patience while involving us visually.

Though not originally produced with streaming in mind, Finch absolutely feels like it was designed by algorithm.

Finch ends exactly as we expect it to end — but what should be an emotional and profound conclusion feels manufactured. You don’t have to be a super-smart robot named Jeff to know when you’re being manipulated.

Finch is sweet, yet disappointingly uneventful.

A mishmash of star power, bleakness, CGI and the cutes, it will on the one hand remind you of how charmingly adaptive Hanks can be, while the same time proving just how problematic the end of the world is as a scenario for schematic heart-tugging.

Incredible movie full of emotion while still being captivating, showing the evolution to characters in a fenomenal way. Highly recommended

This film has great visual effects and art direction, but not much story or character growth. It takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting of surprising origin and revolves around a solitary man who prefers the company of robots and his dog.

An average film at best. Well acted by Hanks, but the storyline is weak and ultimately it's quite a boring film. I also found the voice of the robot to be annoying. The idea is ok, and the set design is decent enough though. Not sure I'd watch it again.

Another painfully generic, by the numbers movie staring an A-lister that offers nothing original or anything of substance. Passable at best.
