Movie wonderful. I don't usually write, but i couldn't help but do so for this. So many incredible details: the nudity in the film, Nicole Kidman's nudity, other beautiful and voluptuous bodies; what photography, what colors, what lights, what setting; what a story; how provocative Stanley Kubrick is. This movie stirs our imagination, deep down... Our fantasies come to the surface... This movie marked my childhood; it scared me and gave me that inner heat of a young teenager. Today, it still scares me, for other reasons, of course. And the youthful warmth has been replaced by admiration for the female body, by respect and reverence for sex, but also, equally, by marriage and a loving relationship between two, and only two, people. Wow! What soundtrack is that?! My god!

It is the very preposterousness of Eyes Wide Shut which is the key to the achievement it represents: it has a singular excessiveness - at once gamey, florid and enigmatically deadpan - which underpins this picture's rich, sensuous style.
These scenes of debauchery and lust that make up the film's centerpiece are among some of the most powerful and disturbing ever put to film.
It's a mind-blowing game, and all that nonsense about this being an erotic thriller was merely part of Kubrick's game.
The director's famously over-deliberate, pause-laden style verges, for the first time, on amateurville, and that gives us too much time to linger on the movie's more bizarre details.

Perhaps I need to watch this again. Roger Ebert said it best; "the reconciliation at the end of the film is the one scene that does not work." And he was right, it felt like they had to tie up any loose ends and they had to do it fast as this film was approaching two and half hours. This needs to be watched with some effort as it will be difficult to understand for many. However, the movie is very well done but has its faults. It is an average film with score of 57.1 out of 100.
