Everybody's Famous!

The result is a sprightly, entertaining film, but one in which the satire is neutralized for laughs.

If there's any justice in moviedom, this summer's feel-good hit will be an unassuming Dutch comedy called Everybody's Famous!

A delightful comedic twist on Martin Scorsese's "King of Comedy."

Sometimes seems as noisy and unrefined as Jean himself. But it has just as much heart, and builds up to rousingly "Rocky"-like climax.

It makes for a sweet and heartwarming story even as it celebrates and justifies the entire ridiculous phenomenon that Deruddere has been spoofing all along.

With its likable blue-collar characters and its unpretentious exuberance, Everybody's Famous is reminiscent of recent British comedies like "Brassed Off" and "The Full Monty."

The one saving grace is a sweet, affecting performance by Werner de Smedt.
