Tautou, who looks even smaller and more fragile alongside her towering leading man, conveys the hurt and hesitancy that are pulling at her character's heart - and does so with seeming effortlessness. It's as though she knows this woman, deep down.

Comedic actor François Damiens mines but never mocks Markus' awkwardness, thereby creating a winning portrait in decency. His tracing, with the ever-luminous Tautou, of the slow bloom of new love is a thing of understated beauty.

Delicacy bears a slight whiff of Anthony Minghella's fantastic "Truly Madly Deeply," but while Minghella's film is a romantic comedy classic, Delicacy hovers just this side of memorable.

Delicacy is not a very good movie. But it is entertaining enough -- barely enough -- to make it worth seeing.

The movie is a pleasant way to spend time in the dark, especially for Francophiles, but it won't leave any lasting impression.

Time Out
It's a rebound-romance movie that's simplistic but sweet, an uncomplicated cinematic bonbon. It'll only take a few quick bites, however, before you'll be ready to move on to something meatier.

Now that Zooey Deschanel has taken a detour into TV land, is Audrey Tautou the most insufferable pixy presence in cinema today?

This is a, at times uplifting and at other times, sad, watch. Audrey Tatou gives a great performance as the main character, Nathalie Kerr. I liked that it has a somewhat basic setting and the themes covered are ones which most anyone could relate to. I felt I could relate to Nathalie quite early on, in terms of her seeing herself as a loner, someone who tends to shy away from big events/social gatherings and as someone who is thoughtful and imaginative. I thought it definitely had a charm about it, with Nathalie being a bit of a dreamer - the musical score in the background is lovely (mainly light instrumental music played). It gives it an extra airy touch, if that makes any sense. I suppose you could argue its a bit cheesy or cliched but I didn't mind that - it didn't feel like it was a weak film made in a rush or anything like that. I appreciate French films like this. I like how independent and self assured Nathalie is shown to be, while also her sort of carefree nature is also well put across. There are quirks to most of the characters, some in a good way and others in a bad way. Overall I found this a sweet and delightful film, which I'd recommend to others, primarily those who enjoy French cinema and who are similar to the main character perhaps.

"La délicatesse" is a loving film with lots of charm and it is made for couples who want to see there after happy ending. Audrey Tautou is great but who stands out in the film is François Damiens. He is real star film. "La délicatesse" is like taking a relaxing cup of café con leche in Montmartre.
