A quite interesting and irresistible movie, a sort of cross between Paul Schrader’s recent film of spiritual crisis, “First Reformed,” and Steven Spielberg’s “Catch Me If You Can.” An impostor as anguished priest.

Bielenia's damp-eyed performance is the broken heart of this restrained and low-key narrative.

Seeing this film, one can understand the power religious belief has, the current inside of one it can be.

Niesamowity film, o człowieku i społeczności. Wspaniałe występy aktorskie, zdjęcia, scenografia oraz historia. Jeden z lepszych filmów 2019. Warto go zobaczyć.

I found the entire enterprise a touching, rough-hewn delight, never sparing us the explicit sex and violence of Daniel’s life “before,” moist-eyed in seeing how his “outside the collar” thinking is a tonic for a tortured town that needs to move on.

It deviates enough from formula — especially in its arresting ending, which takes full advantage of Bielenia’s haunted visage — to be worth seeing.

Corpus Christi doesn’t skimp on the humanity; the film earns the slow smiles it brings to your face.

There's visual command and a compelling intimacy to the storytelling, plus intellectual engagement in the reflection on who gets to claim nearness to God.

The finale is a gut-punch, but it arrives too long after Komasa has already exhausted most of his story's, and leading man's, energy.

Unusual story about young religious crook kept me in constant strain while watching this movie. Overall great film, kinda disappointed by the end but it made me think about it all the evening "what happened next?".

I thought this was quite a good film. Its pretty memorable, mainly for the ending - the very end is somewhat haunting, though brutal. I wouldn't recommend it to people especially squeamish about bloody violence, so be warned. There isn't a large amount of said violence throughout the film but it certainly does provide impact, when it is present. It is quite a thoughtful film, with some good dialogue and the like. It is pretty sobering and certainly a bit gritty but its a worthwhile watch certainly, so I'd recommend it, yes.

Bartosz Bielenia's performance is just excellent. His eyes are instrumental in getting involved with his character: his stare is hypnotic and profound. 'Corpus Christi' examines faith, youth problems, and the arduous task of forgiving with an engaging and incredible story.

(Mauro Lanari) It comes, a couple of years late, from ultra-Catholic Poland, yet it would be reductive to consider it a film on religious faith: it deals with a theme shared by laity and atheists, that of the difficulty in discerning what is good and right, beautiful and true. Screenplay of a disarming unpredictability, it bewilders from the first to the last sequence. And that's really fine.

This film gives the indications, but naturally, it's obligatory to ask why an impostor, despite his convincing motivations, decided to pose as a priest. But this about how faith is ambiguous and religion hypocritical. Corpus Christi addresses both issues in a good way, and although I was not very happy with its closure, the truth is that I did enjoy it.
