Possesses a stylistic boldness and verisimilitude that is virtually matchless.

Phenomenal script, acting, dialogue. It's violent one minute, and funny the next. This is a perfect movie.

A 2-hour classic wrongfully stretched into three.

Visually impressive, splendidly performed, thematically significant, this is a movie in full possession of every key cinematic asset except one -- a solid script. Casino is a polished vehicle with an untuned engine.

One of the ironies of Casino is that even though Scorsese is interested in the story's wider implications, he focuses so much energy on that unsavory romantic triangle that he and the film lose sight of the larger issues.

An accomplished film that carries with it the unshakable feeling that we've seen it all before.

I don't consider Casino Scorsese's very best film(Goodfellas is my personal favourite), but it is a fantastic film and definitely one to see. It is shocking, disturbing and unflinching in places, particularly the part where a head gets squeezed in a vice, but that added to the atmosphere rather than distracted from it. Casino is brilliantly made too. I loved the setting, the cinematography and editing are outstanding and never take away from the atmosphere, and Martin Scorsese's direction is superb. The realism the film has is always absorbing, the subplots that form the story are intriguing and the characters are adeptly drawn. The story for me has seldom a dull moment, not with the subplots as intriguing as they are, how well made it is, how good the characters and acting are. The characters also are deliberately less endearing than are seen with Goodfellas, making it perhaps a more even portrayal of unorganised crime, but the decision to do that paid off. The acting is equally impressive. Robert DeNiro the great actor he is is incredibly charismatic, Joe Pesci gives his best performance in one of his more meatier roles and Sharon Stone(who has never been this good or even sexy before) is a revelation in a very demanding role. Overall, hugely compelling and underrated. 10/10 Bethany Cox

A blind man could understand 90% of the movie just by listening to the narration. I feel the protagonist is too righteous; he never gets his hands dirty, he never betrays his friends and bosses, he never kills his wife even after cheating. I think Scorsese forgot to humanize Ace, and the movie is also too long, but solid acting from the trio De Niro, Pesci, and Sharon, watchable but weak.

Great cast deliver memorable performances in the usual Scorcese style. As enjoyable as the film can be, the whole eperience feels like one long expositionary moment after another. Next to its contemporaries from this 90's era the film has not aged well and the pacing suffers with weak visual FX, lacklustre plot and under cooked dialogue with most of the screenplay delivered by character narration... Sharon Stone delivers one of her best performances here with Pesci and Deniro doing what they are famous for well. Worth watching if you're a genre fan.

Really not my favourite Scorsese, De Niro and Pesci are good but it basically feels like a second rate Goodfellas.

Pointless movie with a sanitized gangster plot. Apart from one scene with good acting from Joe Pesci, there isn't a likable charater in this movie. Ace is a cuckold that literally gets pushed around the whole movie, you can tell that the people who wrote this have no clue how real criminals act and think.
