The action sequences at sea crackle with excitement (and surprisingly intricate special effects), while the well-navigated narrative, based on a book by adventure novelist Rafael Sabatini, has the fatalistic scope of Charles Dickens.

Hoy sucedió algo que pensé que no iba a ocurrir, pero me alegra que pasara. Ninguna película es perfecta, pero esta es una que está muy cerca, y mucho tiene que ver con su gran guion y especialmente con la actuación de su protagonista. Realmente aprecio y valoro que el Capitán Sangre sea tan elocuente, que se exprese de una forma que hasta parece que recita poemas. Tiene giros de guion muy buenos que de cierta forma no caen en los típicos clichés. No es para nada la película más profunda de la historia, pero no lo pretende; al ser de acción y aventura, eso es lo que sientes durante las dos horas, es un viaje, te sientes pirata, te sientes hasta parte de Inglaterra, y es eso, es lo mejor que se puede ver en su género hasta 1935.

Эррол Флинн идеально попал в роль. Колоритный, красивый и годно шутит. Собственно ради него и можно посмотреть этот фильм. Только стоит учитывать, что всё повествование максимально романтизировано и театрально. Также при хронометраже в 2 часа – история скомканная и корявая.
