The late-60's Satanic panic and housewifely ennui make for a surprisingly complementary mix of fear and paranoia in Annabelle.

As a blunt object, a machine built to put nerves on edge and fingers over eyes, Annabelle is still crudely (and cruelly) effective. Fear comes cheap.

Horror is one of my favorite movie genres, and Annabelle absolutely nailed it. I went in with decent expectations, but I wasn’t prepared for how unsettling and gripping this movie would be. From start to finish, it keeps you on edge, building a slow, creeping sense of dread that never lets up.Unlike so many horror films that rely on cheap jump scares, Annabelle knows how to create real tension. Every scene feels carefully crafted to make you uncomfortable, and the atmosphere is just dripping with unease. The cinematography is fantastic, the lighting is eerie without being overdone, and the sound design is spot on. Even the quiet moments feel **** story might not be groundbreaking, but it’s executed so well that it doesn’t matter. The young couple at the center of it all feels real, and you actually care about what happens to them. Annabelle Wallis delivers a strong performance, making you believe in every ounce of fear and desperation she goes through. That final act had me completely locked in.This isn’t just another throwaway horror spin-off. It stands on its own as a terrifying, well-made film that knows exactly how to get under your skin. If you love supernatural horror done right, Annabelle is a must-watch.

The script highlights an annoying lack of self-preservation on behalf of the protagonists. But the movie tries to be more than just a creepy doll freakout, and delivers the requisite scares.

A couple of good jumps but this Conjuring spin-off is led down by poor writing, anodyne leads and and overwhelming sense of familiarity

It's all a far cry from James Wan's The Conjuring, which embraced the thrill of the paranormal even as it respected its frazzled, earthbound characters.

If "subtle" horror movies are going to be this devastatingly boring, maybe it's time to bring back the buckets of blood.

For a superior experience, go buy a disturbing-looking doll that says ''Don't go see Annabelle'' when you pull its string.

Movie review: Annabelle It’s about the ghost always haunted at her house. They were staying in their house and hiding this story. One day, the group of students and their teacher visited this house. They saw the doll ghost. After that, Only one student she wanted to know the room because it is so strangely. When she opened the room, she felt so scare and the door is slam by someone. One more thing, this movie so predictable because the character (the girl who walk in this room) will be run out. Finally, I really like horror movie, It’s a bit scare but it can make me feel good when I messy with something.

I never watched when it released as i thought it might be bad, years of hearing about it did nothing to change that , however after watching and enjoying the conjuring i thought Id give it a shot. that was a mistake . it failed to meet even my incredibly low bar i set going on.

I was expecting Annabelle to at least be jumpy and a little scary. It certainly tries to be, and even makes attempts to give itself and it characters good background stories. But it fails miserably. The acting is dreadful, characters are hollow and poorly thought out and the "scares" are predictable and therefore non existent. A dreadful B movie style prequel to the far superior conjuring.
