We've reached a point where the franchise's excellence in terms of gameplay is unquestionable, and WWE 2K26 consolidates this once again flawlessly. The Showcase and MyGM offer very cool experiences to learn more about the history of the superstars and the structure of the shows. However, the insistence on microtransactions and the way the paid DLC was implemented in an in-game unlocking system is a step backward. This directly affects one of the series' main attractions, which is its extensive roster, alternating between current stars and legends from various decades.

It’s all too easy for me to say that WWE 2K26 offers the best gameplay this series has ever seen. The moment-to-moment gameplay was already excellent, but the improved collision and physics manage to push the presentation even further. While not revolutionary, the new match types offer new ways to have fun and widen the suite for folks who are on the lookout for authenticity. While it’s wearing a little thin for me as a concept, this year’s Showcase is solid, and the MyRise and MyGM offerings continue to impress. Isn’t it a shame, then, that all I can think about when I look at WWE 2K26 is how much this game wants to nickel and dime me, just for being a wrestling fan.

As the WWE 2K series churns out another game each year, they’re becoming tougher to remain enthusiastic about. Visual Concepts found a strong formula with 2K22 and has steadily iterated on that without rocking the boat too much, making for a consistent but gradually less exciting package each year. Starting with The Island’s debut last year, the VC infiltration is becoming irksome, especially in a package that already has multiple expensive editions and paid unlocks. Art is starting to imitate life – it’s never been more expensive to consume the WWE product, thanks to sky-high ticket prices and the pricey streaming subscriptions required to even watch everything. My feelings while playing 2K26 began to mirror my current relationship with the on-screen product: It’s still enjoyable, but the negatives are catching up to the positives.

A fantastic game with amazing graphics and great gameplay; it's become even more realistic. I really enjoyed it.

I don't understand these ratings from the audience. Do they really hate the game? The game is very good, enjoyable, and smooth.

The best wrestling game of the last 6 years. A truly beautiful and very realistic game.

Visual Concepts has done it again, delivering a phenomenal experience and a solid entry with WWE 2K26. Thanks to the new modes, 'The Island' experience, and an overall layer of polish, it provides WWE fans with a fully realized product boasting incredible visual fidelity.

WWE 2K26 is an impressive game that captures the magic of WWE. It's three games in one, maybe even four, each with remarkable depth and each enriched with a host of new features in this edition. There's always room for improvement, but this is one of the highest peaks in the series.

Without reinventing the formula, WWE 2K26 shows that the franchise has reached an exemplary level of maturity among sports games. The subtle gameplay improvements, the inclusion of new fight types, the exciting Showcase starring CM Punk, and the good replayability of MyRISE make this one of the most complete editions in the series. Despite this, monetization practices continue to plague fans, especially those who want to get the most out of the title.

WWE 2K26 is still the heavyweight champion of the scene; the series does not disappoint with loads of content across multiple varied modes of play. It features the largest roster of past and present Superstars of the series, despite a handful of those sitting behind a grind. Questionable micro-transactions still exist, but the gameplay is still solid and competitive, and there are several new features that help with immersion and presentation. It’s a worthy entry to the series, even if we are not exactly reinventing the wheel.

WWE 2K26 will scratch that video game wrestling itch, with a Wrestlemania-sized offering of matches, modes, and wrestlers to choose from. Changes to the way things are unlocked are disappointing, turning the game into more of a grind than it should be, but the different formats you'll play in order to unlock those items rise above the grind. The Island continues to impress, while the MyGM and Universe modes allow you to get deep into the nitty-gritty of show planning in a way other wrestling games have yet to manage…WWE 2K26 is another championship-caliber entry in the franchise, but it still has a ways to go to become a Hall of Famer.

WWE 2K26 improves the wrestling experience with more dynamic matches and smoother gameplay. The game offers new modes and content for wrestling fans. However, some of the storylines feel underwhelming, preventing the game from fully reaching its potential.

WWE 2K26 is like a star that is ready for a push. It’s put in the work and has a great foundation. The roster is pretty stellar, the game modes are all there, and so many systems are in place. Now, it’s just about bringing them all together and taking that next step. No more Showcase, no more new match types. Focus on what you have and enhance it significantly.

Despite improvements to the gameplay nothing can justify the horrible pass. You have to pay money to earn the right to work for characters. Will be returning this the moment I can

The gameplay is better than 2k25 and 2k24 but the biggest problem is the ringside because it requires a lot of grinding.

I understand the branding clothing, but hairstyles shouldn't be locked behind the island at all. You could make the ringside pass work by giving us 759,000 VC just for hairstyles. Since you patched the Easy E method. You could call it a discount in the Barbershop. Then I'll buy other things on the island for sure.
