Not a bad game, but story is worse than it takes two, gameplay also worse than in takes two, zero humor included, not sure but also less hours of gameplay, character development is meh, design was also better in it takes two even though split fiction provides better warriety in design it lacks polishment and gameplay features included in those new design styles, also speaking about future interactions in story you will probably feel zero logic in moves that main antagonist is doing, and ofc its a story with bad bad villain and good good heroes who need to put an end to all his crap. Such a uniue story which has never been seen and I truly do not care about two random strangers facing this problems, because what exactly was their story about? How Mia needs to stop being an **** and Zoe **** let go of her sister and we get to know about this plot at the end of the game, so Zoe doesnt grew a single inch in character development and at the end Mia just becomes a little bit less ****, that's it. Game is meh, so I give it a meh score, It takes two was great so it's a step downhill

Split fiction is a great co-op platformer and hazelights greatest work so far. The game design is great and the story is also well made but the game lacks in terms of content. Great game thought

This is my first hazelight game and to be honest i am kind of blown away. Great visuals, the way the game mix sci fi and fantasy is so smooth and good. Both of the main protagonist is lovable and adorable in some ways. I think one of the really great parts is that there is tons of mini games that is in the main campaign and they all felt either new or familiar to play with. The only downside of the game i can see is probably just the main antagonist, felt very cookie cutter and plain. Overall a really fun and enjoyable experience, definitely give this game a shot.

Super creative work, feels like playing countless different games. Game difficulty is not too harsh, so the game can be played together with a friend with no limitations; but still offers few optional hardcore challenges here and there.

It manages to be creative and entertaining right up to the end of the game. I found it more successful than It Takes Two.

This game is nice, really nice. I loved the gameplay and dualsense gimmicks, and this game is really good overall, though the early stages felt boring, which is why it got an 8/10.

My rating system: Gameplay 50%
Graphics 30%
Story 20% This is the best couch co-op there is and I wish there were more co-op games with this level of quality and production values. It's creative, always something different and unexpected, sometimes funky and ridiculous but always fun! Coordination is an absolute must. The puzzles themselves aren't too difficult, but be warned that for non-gamers this game will be too hard. While the controls are very smooth, responsive, platforming forgiving, it still requires fast reaction, running while moving camera, double jumping and dashing while guiding your direction mid-air. You have to have at least some action game experience to be comfortable. And later on, especially bosses will only get harder - with many fire and laser particles, crazy, dizzy camera movements and requirements to aim precisely during chaos. Level variation is great, graphics are 100% modern AAA and the story is multi-layered with both womens' characters developing over the course of the game. My only complaint is that there's no single player option even after beating the game, I wish to replay it sometime.

After just finishing this game, I had to find somewhere to leave a review in the hope that everyone involved in making it can see it. If you were part of this spectacular piece of art, THANKYOU from the bottom of my heart. This was hands down the best game I have ever been lucky enough to play, and stretched the limits of gaming altogether. You’ve raised the bar through the roof with this and I cannot wait for your next one. Everything from the design, visuals, storyline, mind bending ideas were absolutely and undeniably PERFECT.

It's no surprise that the game turned out to be excellent. The main characters are quite good, especially for a cooperative adventure. The gameplay is as good as ever. There are many new features. I would like to say the same about the level design and visuals, which are very well done. The plot, although it does not play a big role in this game, is still quite good. The only thing this game lacks to be truly 100/100 in its genre is epic music that will be remembered and even better main characters. In short, this game offers you a dose of rich gameplay and interesting characters.

This one is a bit difficult for me. I like the story, the characters are developing sensibly along with their relationship. But after"It takes two" which I have in very high regards, this one is more empty. The sceneries arenice and colorful but also feel empty and uniteractive. Maybe it is because the camera is focused from further away. It is flashy, yes. The inconvenience was that the segments are plentiful and the changing of them is quick, so I felt slight discontinuum and not the feeling of mastery of each area/segment like in It Takes Two. I played with my partner who is not player per se and someparts of the game were tough for him, so it was nice to have a option to skipp them - but I was also kinda unhappy about it because there is no push to "git gut". We menaged to skip just one bit - one with syncho opening locks on round doors.

Everything is in there – surprise, awe, joy, fear, anger, tears, struggle, satisfaction… you will love the pacing, variability, accessible difficulty and lovable protagonists. If you enjoyed It takes two, this is a no-brainer. If not, it is a great entry point.

English : Split Fiction is great. Like any Hazelight game, you'll have fun with it cause it's what the studio is looking for. Even though, it's hard to challenge It takes two. This new story lacks fluidity, and feels more like little pieces of gameplay put together no matter what. The characters had a hard time growing on me, I even thought they were quite unsufferable in the beginning. The vision of what fantasy and science fiction are mainly relies on commercial cliches you can feel are an excuse for creating "gaming situations". It lacks subtlety. That being said, the environments and the music are exquisit and you'll have a good time. The emotions do not run as high as with ITT though.

Pure fun from the beginning to the end. The story is not as interesting as "It Takes Two", and I think there is also less "genial" ideas. However, the ending is way greater than I expected in both senses (story and gameplay). Incredible!!

This game is a must play. The gameplay feels fresh and original, the story is near perfect, and the game never gets old. I feel like although the gameplay never stops being fun, it gets repetitive at times with Mio’s stories being practically identical. All in all, this is a game that any two people can pick up and have a great time, and I think that Split Fiction is amazing.

Some of the most fun I’ve had playing a game this year. I played it with my brother and we both had a blast. Although there were new mechanics at the end I wish they’ve would’ve put in earlier I still think this is an absolutely incredible game. Josef Fares is the goat btw.

I loved the creative design, almost as I did with it takes two. Impressive gameplay, and final level. I only give 9 and not ten because it doesnt look that great and secondly the story wasnt very engaging. The main characters are a bit annoying.

Great game , lot of bugs not no major ones on ps5 but this game is nor reccomended for players that are “casual” gamers , first would recommend It takes Two witch is lot eazyer then this game but me and my wife beat it in 22 hours and we are satisfied. 9/10

I can say that it is very good, both in game design and story. It surpassed It Takes Two in every sense. The first game was particularly repetitive. They paid attention to that in this one, there is no repetition at all. Josef Fares pressed every button. I liked it very much and played it with my wife and I can recommend it to everyone. I deducted 2 points because it was similar to the first game in concept, we had to do everything co-op (the game could not break out of the co-op mold), and not much has changed structurally compared to the first game.

Pensé que no podrían sorprender después de meter tantas mecánicas en it takes two , pero si lo han hecho….solompor eso y por apostar por juegos cooperativos le doy la nota más alta.!

The story is not good. But that’s not why you play this game, it is so much fun with a friend and has incredible leaps in its gameplay compared to its predecessor of it takes two. While there are a few less minigames where you face each other it doesn’t matter, it’s so incredible what they’re able to do here. It’s cheap for industry standards and you only need to buy 1 copy to play with friends due to the friend pass. Go make friends and go play this game. Buy it!

I’m conservative with scores so this might sound like an 8 for some: Super fun from start to end with an almost insane amount of variety in game design. It’s basically a big bowl of candy and we definitely had a good time with it. In the same vein though, a bowl of candy tastes cheap and lacks depth. Split Fiction is a game about sci-fi and fantasy tropes, and it’s taking these tropes to ironic degrees. However, it doesn’t do this tongue in cheek, instead the drama is played rather seriously, resulting in cringing for me. The design also shares this trait of being ”too much” and comes across as a cluttered neon mess at times. Regardless of this, it is currently one of the best games in the co-op genre. Still quite far from the meta brilliance of It Takes Two, and not a genius party game like overcooked. But somewhere in between those two.

I've played through this game with my 8 years old son and it was an absolute blast all the way through. Moving on from completing "It Takes Two", this adventure was even more action packed and creative. The story, gameplay and mechanics are just magnificent and it was a thrill to go through each story and it really encapsulates what collaborative gaming is about..
We loved it so much that we started over day the after and switch roles and have now completed it again.

Spectacular game to play with a friend! Graphics are very cool, the story is somewhat predictable but in the ned it's lots of fun! A clear 2025 GOTY contender.

Stillas good as their previous games to play coop. If I had a criticism it's that there is a lot of repetition between it's gameplay and it takes two and it start to feel like a formula.
Brothers and A way out felt totally different, but now there is a lot of repetition.

0/10. A “story-driven” game where millions can’t understand the story. No Russian language, no subtitles, no interface - nothing. EA decided that 200 million Russian-speaking players across dozens of countries don’t deserve accessibility. They still sell it for full price though. A masterpiece of arrogance disguised as “cost optimization”.

Split Fiction is an undeniable blast that delivers on its promise of an engaging co-op experience. It’s wonderfully varied and appropriately challenging, ensuring that you and your partner will rarely encounter a dull moment. However, Split Fiction must face direct comparison with the modern co-op masterpiece It Takes Two, and sadly, it falls short of that lofty standard. While it excels at being intensely action-packed, it is almost too relentless, often leaving little room for a moment to catch your breath. This high pace means the instances where you can truly appreciate the thoughtful level design feel disappointingly brief. Furthermore, I was left wanting a little bit more variety in some of the environments and enemies, particularly within the Sci-Fi universe, which seemed to reuse assets or concepts more frequently than I’d hoped. Despite these pacing issues and moments of limited visual variety, Split Fiction is, without question, a fantastic game. It provides a genuinely thrilling and satisfying cooperative journey, and for anyone who loves playing games with a partner, this is an easy and enthusiastic recommendation.

I liked this game. It was a fun Co-op experience and my wife and I had a blast. However, very much like Hazelight's previous effort "It Takes Two", this game is missing something. Whilst the level design itself great and story is compelling the worlds feel empty. I walked around glorious fantasy kingdoms that were pretty much sterile for anything that wasn't core narrative. It's like the game is just a shiny shell with nothing under the surface. To me this is as simple as the lack of collectibles, the worlds feel like somebody forgot to finish them and just having hidden items would add a reason to replay. Besides a few trophies there is little replay value, which is a shame because we had fun and given a reason we would jump back in without a thought. Additionally, the Dialogue is shockingly bad and at times feels like it was written by a machine. The game relies a lot on the Co-op experience to cover some pretty big cracks. However, I'm not convinced this is a Hazelight issue as I see this theme with EA games in general and mostly avoid them for this reason. Either way, looking forward to what Hazelight does next!
