Rayman Forever

Rayman Forever is a late 90's hit masterpiece. It opens the great, pretty short-lived series with a bang. The mechanics in the game are very unique, and are some that would seem rarely apparent in many different titles back in its years. The highly detailed art style makes the whole game feel alive 24/7 and it gets even better with the lively, nice, cozy soundtrack playing throughout the game. Every world seems different with a new essential mechanic being introduced every single time. Not only does the scenario differentiate, the gameplay changes significantly, making every different world feel like something new. Keeping the game interesting and fun. Fun? Many people might not say that. The game is after all known for its excruciatingly painful hardcore levels. I played the game of course, and can say for a fact that there were many hard levels, but with how many times you can replay them, they do seem easier and easier every try, it's still kind of difficult though. Some elements are annoying on purpose, backing up the fact that this game genuinely feels so alive. The only minus I would heartfully give this game, is the non-sensical nature of the cages. Cages contain Electoons that you need to save in order to unlock the final level in the game. They are supposed to be secret and hard to get, but normally games would give hints how to get to them. This game, even though does give hints in some situations, sometimes it turns a blind eye on them, giving the game another unfair feel. This game should not be seen only as an amazing platformer, but a masterpiece that dominates many games in its respective genre. High 9 out of 10.

Great pack, Rayman 1 in itself is a solid game, and the additional levels are fun for the most part, even if they are way harder than the original game.
