It's fun while it lasts. [Christmas 2009, p.106]

2/13/2012: Metal Drift may be small, but it's incredibly tight. It's like someone took Battlezone's agile hover tanks and stuck them in Hyperblade's extreme sports setting, giving you a variety of weapon and equipment options while they were at it. I'm always pleased when I can pick up a competitive game and immediately excel above other entry-level players, though Metal Drift's tiny community means that you're always going to run into one of the few veterans, who will inevitably demonstrate why more people don't stick with weird little games like this. I encourage you to overcome the inherent butthurt in playing against such individuals and engage in a unique and thrilling multiplayer experience.

An absolutely fantastic game for anyone who's looking for balanced, fast paced, team based multiplayer. While the gameplay seems simple at first, at high levels the game can get quite complex. Definitely a great value for the price.

This is easily the best game I've ever played, even if it is very basic and stuff. There are things that could be improved though, so I can't rate it a 10. The best part of this game is that it is great for a quick random game, and the team play is great. Working with a team makes it just amazing. You could always go solo too, if you're good enough you might score a goal but the easiest way of scoring is working together. You can choose what you want to do, and choose your tank setup. For example, my normal strategy is speed upgrade with shock cannon (shotgun range weapon). I change tactics a lot though, making it hard to predict what I will do next. The community of this game is somewhat down now that it is pretty old, and the developers have stopped working on it which is sad. I had a modded server with some bug fixes and some balancing and a new map, still trying to get that back up though. I recommend giving the game a demo run at the very least, you can play online with the demo even, you just can't level up past level 13. The demo is infinite time as well. Invite your friends in as well for a team game.
