Killzone Trilogy is a collection of 3 great games, but with only one title being the reason to buy, I can only recommend it if you do not own Killzone 2 and 3. If you do own them, but you still want to play the original, you can save money and download it by itself on the PlayStation Store. With nothing added to the other games and a rather lackluster upscale treatment to the other, this collection seems only for those who have never experienced the series.

A must own title so that you now can play killzone (ps2 released) on a much more powerful system. I would like to focus only on that game and consider the other two games bonus'. The original release of killzone on the ps2 was problematic to say the least (see my ps2 review) and now it seems this version is much superior with more fluidity at the cost of immersion. It is quite a drastic change in feel to the game. The graphics are much improved and the PS3 can actually handle the game so no screen tears and presumably some tweaks on gameplay as well. Now the game isn't as clunky but has retained the base feel and with better graphics at 720 rather than 480 it's looking way better. In addition to hd rendering, It seems some gameplay features got a remaster as well, such as the zoom on sniper rifles ect the game is more refined than the original. As I mentioned in my ps2 review this comes at the cost of immersion but props to this version. You can now decide which feel or version you prefer and I think this version generationally improves the game. Back in the day the game had some critiques and I find most of them have been repaired in this remaster. Add on top of this the other two games and it's hard not to call this must own.
