Hoa is short and, at times, you’ll be forgiven for forgetting you’re even playing a game. That’s not all bad, though: Hoa gives you room to breathe, to escape into its spectacularly-painted world for relaxation rather than challenge.

Hoa doesn't do anything strictly wrong. It is not broken, or bad, or worse still boring. It's a delicately enjoyable time in a whimsical land, with a simple story of a child wanting to return home. The issue here is that it doesn't do much that's different, either. It's the kind of platforming you've seen in 2D games infinite times before, and you will likely experience again and again. It's short, it's sweet, and if you simply want to turn your brain off and not experience anything particularly new, it's not the worst path you could tread.

Hoa is a little audiovisual gem that invites us to live a relaxed adventure where the goal is to enjoy the journey, with no more worries than letting go and living the experience. Forget about enemies and great challenges, just let yourself be lost into the beautiful atmosphere.

Hoa's strong point is it's artstyle and music Which is absolutely delightful to behold and hear. Platforming is fairly simple (except the final stage...people with motion sickness, beware) Story is given in hints and small dialogues. Characters are a few (but adorable). No fighting nor boss fights as Hoa can't fight **** if you like a simple chill platformer, Hoa has that in spades. Not much **** very quick to finish (I finished in roughly 3 hours or so) Chill vibes 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵 A soothing balm for the soul, if you need one. Overall : I enjoyed the game as a very chill and beautiful platformer. Willplay it again, but in the fairly distant future 🩵

Jogo simples, curto e bem fácil.
Grande destaque para trilha sonora, é um bom passa tempo mas não se destaca em nenhuma outra qualidade.

So here is the thing, the game is really beautiful and the audio is amazing. The only issue (and oh boy it's a big one) is that the game play is really bad. The platforming is extremely basic, the puzzles are really easy, and the story is quite bland. I would only recommend this game to small children that are exploring gaming.

It's safe to say that I think Hoa is an absolutely outstanding game. My childhood self would be shrieking with glee at this game as it is everything you could possibly wish for out of a nature based puzzle platformer. With adorable creatures to befriend and a story to learn, Hoa definitely has it all. Therefore I cannot recommend this game enough.

Young players still green to the simple story ideas and to platforming fundamentals will find absolute magic in Hoa. The orchestral score and hand-painted backdrops have the power to whisk imaginations away like nothing else. The tried-and-true design of a modern platform game, while unsurprising to seasoned players, will delight budding gamers getting to know the genre. Apart from its closing stage, Hoa is a paint-by-numbers platformer – and the painting is exceptional, even if everything stays carefully inside the lines.

An extremely beautiful game with a very heartwarming story. Graphics and music are so beautiful. This is a game to enjoy and not to rush through.

A short but beautiful game that make you feel like you are playing a Ghibli Studio movie.

Hoa is short and contains rather basic platforming and flawed controls. However, Hoa is also one of the most beautiful video games ever made, with preposterously strong visuals and music that will be remembered for years to come. It's up to you if the latter can make up for the former, but personally, I would recommend this game to almost anyone.

Hoa looks to offer up a relaxing experience first and foremost though, and because of its amazing aesthetics it largely succeeds in this aim – but it’s still hard to overlook its lack of ambition in the gameplay department.

Beyond such exquisite splendor from visual and musical perspectives, Hoa proves simple, if not simplistic, just like the adventure's minimalist, ephemeral nature may reflect the lack of original ideas. A nonetheless passionate tribute to Skrollcat Studios' wondrous inspirations.

Even in retrospect, it’s easy to look at Hoa and imagine possibilities that it just doesn’t fulfill. The way it contextualizes its mechanics is wonderful, but there’s not enough depth, risk, or complexity to complement those ideas. As a result, the brief experience becomes rather flat and routine.

Hoa make me happy because of the melody and resonance that I can't take my eyes off, as well as the elegant melodious sound of the piano

I made this account purely to review this game. The art work is charming. The music is great. There was clearly a lot of love and attention put into the aesthetics of the game. However, less attention was paid to the mechanics. If you indicate a move left or right, the character will run until stopped. This is not a good mechanic for a platforming game because it simply creates frustration and undermines the gaming experience, which undermines the careful work that went in to constructing the world. I think the designers should have held the gameplay to a higher standard to ensure immersion it what otherwise would be a pleasant, calming tone poem ****.

Very pretty but I was bored after about 5 screens of basic platforming. Didn't bother playing any more.
