The narrative is outstanding, even in spite of a few plot-point missteps, and the character evolution of Master Chief and Cortana deserves to be further explored with these wonderful storytellers (well, maybe one of them can't happen, but I'll avoid spoilers). However, the gameplay feels jilted, awkward and unrefined, three unforgivable sins in a landscape populated with other quite-capable FPS franchises. As a result, I'm going to average everything out: great story plus bad gameplay equals an average experience. And in this overcrowded FPS genre, "average" is isn't something I'd recommend buying.

Halo 4 was not my thing but issue I had was getting attacked by the Promethean Knights and it was completely different to the covernet but it was a good game and that's all I can say

I did enjoy this game just as I've enjoyed all the Halo entries up to this point, but I have to say I think this is the weakest so far. You can tell it's much newer because the graphics are a lot prettier, so why does it still feel gameplay wise like an OG Xbox launch title? In the earlier ones I was much more willing to overlook the lack of weight to the guns, the spongy enemies, the low IQ enemy AI etc., but in 2012 there's just no excuse anymore, plus the story felt like the weakest so far as well.

So this one was a love it or hate it for a lot of people - not for me. I knew this was and had to be good. Beautiful graphics and visuals. Campaign hit the emotions like a ton of bricks and the multiplayer PVE continuation of the story landed just right! Man this is a good day to be a Halo player!

If you're a Halo fan, you've probably already pre-ordered and purchased this game and thankfully the game more than lived up to its hype. Even if you have never played a Halo game before, it's still one of the best first person shooters on any console.

Halo 4 is perhaps the best-looking Xbox games out there. While as a first person shooter Halo 4 isn't breaking any new ground, 343 Industries has done a terrific job retaining the classic Halo gameplay. The Prometheans are a bit of a let down, but luckily the Covenant hasn't been forgotten. While I enjoyed the new Reclaimer storyline, the touchy-feely stuff between Master Chief and Cortana feels a bit forced and awkward. Unsurprisingly the multiplayer is great fun, though the matchmaking could use a little speed-up. [Nov 2012]

343 Industries succeeds in evolving the franchise and prepares it for the next generation of consoles. After Halo 4 we feel very confident about the future: the series is in good hands.

The new Halo from 343 Industries is a big step in the right direction. There's no revolution to talk about, but there is some fresh air being pumped into this series. There aren't enough unique new things to bow down to the developers, but Halo 4 provides loads of fun. If you're an old fan, you'll be very pleased. If you're against Halo - it's a great opportunity to give the series another chance. Halo 4 is not the best installment in the franchise, but definitely is the most atmospheric and varied one.

A shiny old dog without any new tricks. I got more out of the Halo 1 remake, which at least had the appeal of nostalgia. Playing through an updated version of the original Halo was at times tired or tedious. But it was also a reminder of the raw genius that launched the series. There is none of that in Halo 4, which is a drawn-out retread without any fresh perspective or energy, and furthermore missing a lot of what I need to pull me through a Halo game. Halo 4 demonstrates that if there's one thing worse than more of the same, it's less of the same.

Este halo lo sentí cómo un odst por que en primera la historia se me hace muy floja a las demás historias sin embargo las cinematicas son hermosas,el gameplay es bueno por los remates pero no me quejo pero se siente muy repetitivo que le descargues 80 cargadores a los enemigos más fuertes y no se quieren morir por el escudo que les aporta cómo si fueran novios y además la maquina que les da escudo se mueve peor que mosquito alborotado y para atinarle bala tienes que rezar,el soundtrack se siente demasiado alejado a lo que son los soundtrack de halo parece soundtrack de pelicula sinceramente,el cooperativo minimo lo salva de que no se sientan monotomos matar enemigos fuertes a diestra y siniestra,en conclusión este halo tiene muchos cabos sueltos no es mal halo pero esta lejos de ser bueno,simplemente un halo muy flojo.

This game started out soo good. Hearing the new assault rifle's sound and the new graphics was mind blowing. It was all fun until the middle of the game when u were just fighting the same enemy over and over and over again! It had potential but it lacked the FUN thatthe first 3 Halo's had.

Halo, What a great series! I feel in love with Halo for it's story, music and solid FPS gameplay. It's similar to Half-life in that way. A Great FPS story-driven game. Sadly, 343i decided to throw the story out of the window. The plot in Halo 4 is there to justify the visuals and that's it. it's contrived and lazy. It doesn't respect Halo lore that came before it. It a sad day when something you love becomes a cash cow. (Looking at you SW: Force Awakens). Halo 4 is a beautiful game, can't take that away, sure. BUT it falls flat on it's face in every other aspect. Adding sprint and crouch doesn't count as innovative gameplay. It's the worst kind of action flick. It goes for dazzling beauty with big "epic" scenes with little sense. The campaign which is the main reason Halo is such an awesome beloved series is the weakest part of this game. The Good: - Beautiful - Sprint/Crouch The Bad: - Soundtrack - Story *Doesn't take a genius to see that most 9-10 reviews are simply fan-boys. some would even say the campaign/story isn't that good but still give it a 10.
