Fran Bow is chaos in its purest form. A stream of gibberish. A classic example of a story written on a napkin.

Despite an average story Fran Bow was an interesting journey that even left me feeling uneasy in dark places. [11/2015, p.40]
Disturbing yet adorable, full of violence but at the same time tender, Fran Bow is an adventure with a compelling and sad story that we utterly recommend. The final part of the game might seem confusing and chaotic, but it's still a great moment that will hit you right in the guts.

Fran Bow isn’t usually the kind of genre I enjoy, but its storytelling pulled me in almost immediately. The narrative is dark, unique, and strangely captivating. It draws you into its world faster than you expect. The gameplay itself is simple and easy to pick up, making it accessible, but some of the puzzles can catch you off guard with their challenge.

More than the sum of its parts. Dark. A favorite forgotten bedtime story from Hell. Beautiful in the intricacy of it's world. The single greatest indie adventure game surprise of 2015.

Fran bow is a really special game by its universe and style. I do like it a lot and my girlfriend too. The story may be a bit "simple" but it is really engaging. I also liked discovering the universe at the same time as fran does and i think that all the places in this game are really well made. I recommend it, i think it is a masterpiece !

An occasionally horrific game with a memorable character and some fantastically grotesque artwork, it’s absolutely worth the journey.

Such a beautiful game, played it like three times years ago and was just going about my day when I remembered it existed and was struck with an acute need to gush about how amazing it is. I have never seen such evocative settings, worldbuilding, and aesthetic. Admittedly, it's not everyone's cuppa tea; It is a bit slow around certain parts later on, and you probably will have to bust out a guide to get through certain puzzles, and the amount of dialogue is more than most people would care for. But I can't not give it a 10. Just thinking about this game's world gets me weak at the knees. I don't want to spoil too much, but at one point, you find someone's journal, which has literally 40 pages of him documenting his life and providing exposution about the magical creatures of this world. Thing is, if I recall correctly, which admittedly I may not, reading this book is completely optional. You could simply go through the entire game and still understand the story without it. They didn't have to put in that extra effort to make this a part if the game, but they did. That should tell you what sort of experience this is. But, just, please, at the very least give this game a try.

To be honest, the atmosphere wasn't creepy at all. However, the puzzles were good and the story-telling was interesting. 8hrs on record.

Fran Bow got great main characters, nice visuals and interesting story, charming and creepy at the same time. Messy pixel hunting was the main drawback for me: a lot of interactive objects looked a lot like background objects just near them.

Not the worst adventure game ever, but certainly one of the most over rated. Nothing stands out - the graphics are average, the interface is clumsy and none of the characters are voiced. Puzzles are okay, except for a bugged puzzle that caused me to give up on the game. I completed all the steps required to solve a puzzle (I know this because there is a "recipe" for the required items), put the items where they are suppose to go, but the game said I was missing an item. Which leads to another huge drawback to this buggy game, no saved games. The game auto saves, so I was stuck. I could go back to the start of the chapter, but I might encounter the same bug. Play the very similar, but much better Anna's Quest instead.
