Delivers very solid and atmospheric racing experience. Updated engine, physics and AI makes it feel more than a season update glued over its predecessor. [Nov 2011]

Brutal graphics and is realistic as hell. Very good option for players that like f1 and race games in general.

Gaming Target
On the surface, the changes made to F1 2011 over its predecessor seem small, but once you start a career mode or get to grips with car setup, you'll find that the game really is the huge overhaul they claimed it would be.

It's the most exhilarating racing experience I've had since Dirt 3, and if you had to ask me which one I liked better, it would be like having to choose one of my children to sacrifice.

Code masters is one of the best companies to ever bring us racing on consoles that don't just give us a dumb down pc port but surpass pc racers and that is a fact. After racing for 30+ hours before even touching the online,I have to say that this is my 2nd favorite racer, right behind Forza 4.This game is freaking amazing in every sense of the word.I was truthfully scared because of the difficulty that other review companies were claiming that this game had but that's what real racing brings to the table. After my first hour of playing this game,I realized that not only is this one of the most real racing games I have ever played but it is one of the most fun experiences I have had. This game is screaming brilliance from the second you pop it in till your gaming session has ended.I can't get enough and I am ready and waiting to see how they improve on this **** only thing that this game is lacking, and just in the slightest way, is the graphics. While it's raining and or wet it looks stunning but while the rest could use some work, It's not enough to knock a full point from so I am still giving this game a ten rounding it out.I'm really amazed and I urge anyone to get this game over the 2010 game cause while that game is excellent this corrects everything that that game was **** this game, play this game, live this game!Great job Codemasters!9.7

I am a massive F1 fan and had F1 2009 for PSP, F1 2010 for Xbox 360 and bought F1 2011 the day it was released. The multiplayer in F1 2010 was a complete shambles and was a glitch and mod haven. I was expecting F1 2011s to be similar if not slightly better, by heck I was wrong. The single player was as good as I expected it to be with fantastic new features KERS, DRS, Pirelli tyres and the Safety Car and cleverer AIs. One of the only bad things I would say about F1 2011 is the fact that even on the hardest difficulty, if you have mastered a track then the AIs aren't even going to be close to you in the race which is dissapointing. Strategy is a key in this game which represents how it was in real F1 in 2011. One of the things I love about this game is how the cars actually feel different unlike past F1 games. I can feel the great downforce in a Red Bull and can see why Ferrari struggled in 2011. The multiplayer I thought was an add-on feature to the game when I bought it but I have played the multiplayer more than single player now. I would have bought this game if multiplayer was the only thing in this game. I love how fair some of the people are online and also the atmosphere there is when someone is on fresher tyres than you and you know they will be much faster than you. If you are an F1 fan, this will be one of the best games you have ever played, if you haven't then you will still love it. I really hope that Codemasters recognises that fans want some DLC (maybe classic F1 moments to relive, or classic F1 cars or seasons from past years), but who knows. I really do not know how F1 2012 can be made any better.

This game is only for those who follow the F1 sport and who knows a thing or two about racing. Sorry, Mario Kart experience doesn't count.

Maybe a bit rushed but an extremely important score for this newcomer. If we have a look at licensed motorsports we see that Codemasters are really ahead of its competitors, without a doubt; the only thing remaining is to obtain WRC licence for DiRT series and then move on some trucks, maybe? With Codemasters' sturdy engine and team of people, which are not afraid to get dirty from underneath of the engine hood, it would be a loss to not expand. So do it – we want more.

If you're looking for a quick, pick-up-and-play racing game, this is not for you. This game takes patience and attention to detail to play.

i think the game is really good but i wouldn't suggest turning on the safety car. Every time a safety car is deployed it will auto brake you every single time and your not allowed to pass people in a safety car but every one else will overtake you IT'S NOT FAIR! And if someone overtakes you in Melbourne they will speed ahead of you and you can't catch up with them because they're driving at literally driving at a billion miles per hour! I recommend you be careful with what track you pick! I'll give it a 6!

I am not at all even remotely interested in F1. To me it's more about the car and technology and track conditions than it is about the driver. I got this game purely to drive fast around world-renowned famous tracks. But there's too much additional rubbish that stop me from doing so. Laptop, email, interviews, qualifying, practice, long/short race weekend etc. I don't want all this. I don't even want to race against AI. I just want time trials. Luckily, you can put the AI on Amateur, skip qualifiying and start last but reduce rules and flags, turn collisions off and get into first place after the first couple of corners. You can also adjust the length of the race, even setting it to 3 laps rather than the full 56. A game like this couldn't have been done by anyone but Codemasters. On the track, the game works reasonably well. It takes time to get used to the unpredictable handling, as the car can suddenly spin out with no gradual warning at all. But it's that edge which makes the game freightening and instense- especially at lower speeds when taking tight bends. Since car setup is such a huge part of F1, you can adjust just about everything, which is good for getting the best lap times in optimal conditions. Unfortunately, my lack of interest in the sport means this game isn't as enjoyable as I'd hoped. The game doesn't have a tutorial for all the rules of F1, yet they have included driving assists. The game's graphics are possibly the most outdated I've ever seen in a racing game. But that doesn't really matter. Cckpit view is where this game is experienced best. My biggest problem with this game isn't the god aweful career mode or the archaic graphics, but generally the whole package. The time attack scenarios, for example, couldn't have possibly been any worse. The developers have picked the worst possible tracks, rubbish cars and to make matters worse, half of them are in the rain. There's only 6 too. Cars all handle the same imo, just straight line speed is different. It's also that F1 cars are generally not fun to drive. You can't powerslide around corners, and you can lose grip so easily. The only technical issue this game suffers from is corner cutting detection. On one hand, you can completely miss out a corner if you angle it exactly right and escaped undetected, whilst placing a wheel an inch within the apex could land you a WARNING: CORNER CUTTING - LAP TIME INVALIDATED. The tracks themsleves aren't great either. Whoever designed Montreal and Monaco clearly never tried driving round it. It's these two tracks which have the biggest corner-cutting issues. Even the Nurburgring F1 circuit, which is normally alright on other racing games- is poor on here. The game is still quite expensive so if you're after bang for your buck, F1 2011 will be very dissapointing. I can see the appeal of the game only to people who are quite happy to spend their entire life stalking F1 drivers, engineers, teams etc. If you're not obsessed or don't center your life around F1 seasons, just don't bother getting this.

If this were the first version of this game I would say it is worth a 7 or an 8, but taking it as what it is, a fixes&update version of another game I already bought (F1 2010) I have to say that it's not worth the average 60â

A glitchy, broken mess. CM learnt nothing from F1 2010 and simply replaced one set of glitches with another. Although handling has been improved, any semblance of competence has been ruined by the catastrophic multiplayer. Decent online play is ruined by constant lag and unequal cars.
