eFootball 2022 in its latest version (1.0) shows some occasional glimmers of former PES glory, but it is still painfully far from being a full-fledged game, both in terms of features and gameplay, which is ruined by sluggishness, weak AI, poor animations and questionable physics.

eFootball 1.0.0 version is a substantially better game than the one we got in september. However, it does little more than the bare minimum to actually be considered a game - what we had before was pretty much a tech demo. With an array of missing features and unforgivable absences in its game modes, as well as an improved yet inconsistent gameplay, eFootball is to PES what MK Dons is to Wimbledon FC.

Yes, at least eFootball 2022 does now have a fully-fledged mode to take it past the point of being a demo, but it’s still lacking so much more than you’d expect from a 1.0 version of a game.

Misses out on multiple features that its predecessor, PES, has, its just mostly pay-to-win garbage, the packs are bad, since they are scams, and the leveling up system for players is stupid, since there are some players that cannot be upgraded, the ratings are unrealistic and awful, putting messi and ronaldo on their incorrect ratings.

eFootball 2022 does show some signs of a great soccer-game after update 1.0.0. However the game remains very rough around the edges – not only on the pitch, but also when it comes to presentation.

Após atualização o jogo tá muito bacana. Gameplay tá boa e gráficos bons. Só precisa melhorar a quantidade de conteúdos

Konami couldn't have chosen a worse way to bring its football franchise to the new generation, as eFootball 2022 seems more like a mobile game ported for PS5 and now Konami is facing an uphill battle to regain the trust of the community and come back from what could be the worst sports simulation in the history of video games.

A shameful launch of a barely playable, graphically embarrassing game that shames the memory of PES and may have killed the new franchise before it’s even begun.

It’s fine. I haven’t played it but it’s nothing special unlike *Halleujah sound effect insterted* PES.

The game is done well, but it deserves a 6 out of 10 for 2 reasons: the matchmaking is really bad and you can't enjoy an online match, and some things are obviously wrong (some offsides are obscene)

Konami, for reasons only they know, have decided to abandon the name Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) in favour of what they are calling e-football. Unfortunately they’ve scored an own goal from the very start, and it’s hard to see them ever recovering. Barely playable at launch, the latest patches do ensure it at least plays a pretty good game of football now, but there are still just so few features and options (outside of the online mode seemingly designed solely to take your money) that within an hour or so you’ll be left wandering what you’re supposed to do.
SummaryFrom "PES" to "eFootball™ It all began with the implacable determination to create a revolutionary soccer platform. Our ambition was to recreate the perfect soccer environment, from the grass on the field, to the players' movement, all the way to the crowds in the stadium. To this end, we decided to create a new soccer engine with a newl... Read More
