Probably the worst game based on CSI. The puzzles and tests you must solve have nothing to do with the kind of investigations of the TV series and the graphical style of the game just doesn't work at all.

It's just a very monotonous experience.

The only saving grace is the excellent, original voice acting. Instead of taking up the investigative work we are forced to partake in a string of minigames that could well serve as the developmental tools in the kindergarten, were it not for their gruesome matter. The ancient, two dimensional, low resolution graphics is also a grim joke. [Mar 2009]

There’s nothing really intellectually stimulating, the 2D graphic novel-style graphics leave things to be desired, and the concept tires quickly.

CSI: NY - The Game unfolds most fun while it`s still packed. Interaction with the gaming world does not exist apart from collecting various items, interviewing suspects and playing boring mini games, so that even fans of CSI: New York will probably not feel motivated to finish all the episodes.

While it’s an entertaining romp for the first hour or so, the game will tire quickly on the player. The show is much more exciting than the video game so it’s best to stick to watching CSI on your television rather than playing it on your PC.

Do you have a six year old son who likes to watch CSI? Then this is the game for him. There's a shattered body lying next to the Empire State building, so we start collecting evidence all around it: Pretzels, empty cans, flowering pots and rubber ducks. That doesn't make any sense? That's right, this just a simple game of "find the hidden object" with a thin story and some CSI people. Asking 30 Euros for all that is nothing but a rip-off. Well done, Ubisoft.

If you love the show and get a kick out of mini-games you might enjoy this… but at 50 bucks, you’d be wise to wait until it drops to one-fifth that price.

SummaryFor the first time in the CSI video game series, CSI: NY – The Game allows you to play as actual characters from the hit TV show. The video game features a brand-new graphic novel art style, interactive mini-games and interrogations, as well as original cases crafted by writers from the "CSI: NY” television series. [Ubisoft]
