Everything Blacksad: Under the Skin did ineptly, Chicken Police does perfectly. This Hungarian visual novel offers much more than I expected: a feast for eyes, a great duo of detectives, polished and varied supporting characters, and a story that treats social issues (e.g. systemic racism) seriously. In my tiny pantheon of visual novel/adventure games, Chicken Police - Paint it RED! has a spot.

Engaging with fun dialogue and a great storyline. The interrogations make you think and the game encourages exploration and being thorough. There were a couple moments were I wished there was a bit more direction on the mini-games, but they were enjoyable and broke up the exposition well. Great pickup for some quick fun!

One of those indie diamonds that pop up every once in a while, and manage to speak right to our souls. Truly a one-of-a-kind experience.

A very special point and click visual novel, Chicken Police is the perfect hard-boiled detective game you always wanted, just populated with animals. Atmospheric and funny, with some fantastic writing and voice work, Chicken Police is one of the best indie games of the year.

There’s a lot to love about Chicken Police. Clawville is such a unique city and I wish I could spend more time there getting to know its history and its residents. Sonny is a dark but quirky protagonist and he’s a pleasure to step into the shoes of. It’s a mature title with violence and cursing, however, so don’t let the cute animals fool you. If you’re looking for a engaging detective story with a very distinctive flavour, Chicken Police should be the top of your list.

Other than falling fowl of having too many unnecessary mini-games, Chicken Police intrigues with its eye-catching visuals, superb voice acting and peck-uliar film noir-style story.

Absolutely fantastic little game. It's more of a visual novel than anything else, there are literally just a couple of puzzles, and not very good at that. But the noir atmosphere, the dialogs, music and voice acting were just amazing. I literally chuckled through the entire game. Spot on.

Story: B- Gameplay: D+ Graphics: B Audio: B Lengh: 10h Not a "game" to be honest. Very little you can do except of clicking on the next dialog. Anyway, this is great story, music and graphic design. Partially interactive decent detective noir story. I completed the game.

The game is a film noir adventure which isn't a total disaster but it has some serious flaws: 1. The story is extremely linear and the gameplay not challenging to the point of being almost like a novel with minor exceptions 2. The choices that score the interrogations are poorly designed and half of the time they are unintentionally misleading 3. Several characters and dialogues are completely redundant or out place making the game half of the time just boring At the end of the day if you're extremely into film noir adventuring you might like it but it's generally a flawed game.

Basically an extremely linear visual novel with a detective story that didn't even have an "AH HA" moment. The game just feeds everything to you. Animal heads on human bodies are all there is to drive the game. Pros are the artwork and voice-over work, but that's just a shell that needs to be on a good story for it to amount to anything worth playing.

This game was a big disappointment. The art style is great and the theme was interesting as well. But I don't think the story is well paced, smart, insightful or even that funny. Take the character mentioning Filmar Low right off the bat, I thought that was pretty funny and setting up the tone nicely. Then he shows up as a character and is mentioned a lot in random conversations until the dead horse has been thoroughly beaten
SummarySonny Featherland and Marty MacChicken were once legendary detective partners in Clawville PD. Predatory division, nicknamed as the Chicken Police. But that was a decade ago and time had passed them by... Sonny is a semi-alcoholic wreck of a bird on paid leave, while Marty still hides behind the facade of a star-detective. On the nigh...
