Case Solved: The London Files

If you are looking for an action-packed noir detective story, you won’t get it. If you’re looking for a short puzzle game for a rainy Sunday afternoon, the Case Solved: London Files will pair perfectly with that cup of tea.

Case Closed: The London Files is a cute detective game with a wonderful noir theme and the cases are interesting to play through. Investigating makes you feel like a detective, and the game doesn’t shy away from bringing you a bunch of creative cases to solve. With that being said, the game is a bit on the shorter side, and even if the cases are cool, you’ll go through them very fast. Thankfully, it’s not an expensive game, and I feel that you get your money’s worth for this. Whether Case Closed: The London Files is for you or not comes down to how much you love the idea of being a detective in a crazy little world, and if you have what it takes to bring some analytic thinking into the mix. Even if the cases are not particularly difficult, they will require you to think outside of the box as you try to find the culprit. And it’s exciting, because at various points you’re going to point fingers towards the right suspect. But that’s the fun in these games, making the most out of the evidence and slowly getting towards a satisfying resolution, and Case Closed: The London Files certainly has that. I just wish it had more content.

Case Solved: The London Files fulfills its purpose very well as a light, intelligent, and relaxed pastime. However, its replay value tends to be zero.

Case Solved: The London Files is a bit bare-bones and lacks features found in more in-depth detective games. However, everything that is here works well, and it’s perfect for a quiet evening in Baker Street.

A light logic puzzle game, Case Solved: The London Files offers up a couple of hours of breezy entertainment. But less than stellar writing and a lack of decent narrative let it down.

While there may be some minor points in Case Solved’s favour (a nice jazzy score, visuals that are easy on the eyes), they’re absolutely not worth the trouble the game will cause you trying to get it to work. Between being broken and just plain bad, I guarantee you that you have better things to do than playing this junk.
