What an astonishing debut for Teku Studios! “Candle” is a terrific, gorgeous yet challenging game, that one must be either mentally short or emotionally inadequate in order not to acknowledge its high value and love it.

Candle is not just a pretty face. It is difficult, uses a powerful visual narrative and is, in a few words, charming. If you are lovers of puzzles and platforms games, Candle is a must have.

Candle is charismatic, beautiful and original. If you enjoy with puzzle adventures, it deserves a try. It'll probably surprise you.

Teku Studios has needed four years of development to finish Candle. Every day has been worth it. Candle is one of the most beautiful adventure of the year and a very complex one.

Mix of adventure and platformer game excels especially with beautiful environment and clever puzzles. Controls and storytelling style unfortunately failed. [Issue #271]

I can't remember when was the last time I had this much fun with a game. It has challenging puzzles, an interesting story (with an awesome narrator voice!), and the best 2D art I've ever seen in my entire life. I did some research and it seems that these guys made it entirely handmade, using watercolours! That is quite a feat on their side. Also, the music is superb and the characters are lovely. And, for an indie title, it is surprisingly long! It took me 16h to complete this game, and a bit more to get all its Achievements. To sum it up: get this game!!

Fantastic game with excellent graphics and great gameplay. Did I mention the graphics? Haven't seen such a nicely drawn setting in years, certainly one of the best point and click adventures in the last years! Chapeau!

Gorgeous hand-drawn graphics and a sumptuously written story are just about enough to make up for sometimes-dodgy controls.

Candle requires too much brain power for me to handle and too much patience with the awkward controls. I gave up about half way through (I think), because I got tired of having to look up solutions when I got stuck all the time. I don't think I would have been able to beat this game without help even with 100 hours spent on it. I just don't look for the right things. It makes no sense to me. I can see why this game appeal to people that are better puzzle solvers though. Creative and charming.

Pros: -GRAPHICS -Sound/Music -Puzzles Cons: -Backgrounds and foregrounds look too similar, blending in to each other -You play as this ugly... thing, ugh. The cons are big ones, making this pretty much unplayable. They made everything else beautiful but not the thing you have to see most often (main character)? He's so incredibly ugly that I kept killing him, over and over again, just to see his ugly die. which was the most fun of the whole game.
