All in all, Battlefield 2042 has been a real labour of love for me. The initial launch was remarkably underbaked, but I can’t deny the enjoyment that comes from firing a rocket launcher into a tornado. This may not be the best FPS multiplayer game available, and there are still plenty of issues that need ironing out, but there are occasionally some thrilling moments that you won’t be able to experience in the likes of Call of Duty or Fortinte. It remains frustrating having to pay full price for a multiplayer game, but if you’re already a fan of the franchise and don’t mind missing out on the campaign, you’ll likely enjoy yourself here. The nostalgic aspect of Portal mode will also draw fans in, and of course, the 4K graphics make it very pretty game, even if it has its cracks.

The weakest first-person shooter in the history of DICE. Even, by some miracle, the studio manages to fix the most glaring mistakes and reanimate the abysmal netcode, this game will not become Battlefield at its core.

I liked the game. Helicopter control is good. Cool made when the characters in the game speak for themselves. Played 700 hours, thanks for the game.

До сих пор игра кривая и косая то там, то здесь. Специалисты с абилками сомнительные, освещение тоже, но самое отстойное - это, конечно, мапдизайн. Почти все карты здесь - отстой, независимо от режима. И дело не в том, что они большие, а в том, как они организованы, где укрытия стоят и так далее. Выбора карт нет. Ну в целом именно с эстетической точки зрения многие локации выглядят красиво, саундтрек добавляет атмосферы, но играется это плохо. Была бы игра бесплатной, ей можно было бы влепить оценку и побольше, но игра платная (я ключ рублей за 800 взял, дешевле не нашёл. Зря, конечно, но я всерьез думал что игра не так плоха, как ее малюют). И в нее почти никто сейчас не играет, так что брать не советую. Ну и конечно почти любой другой батлфилд будет на голову лучше.

Battlefield 2042 brings the sandbox back to the series in bold and controversial ways. The new Specialist system might seem like sacrilege at first, but it opens up gameplay opportunities that weren’t possible in previous titles. The massive, well-designed maps offer plenty of room for experimentation and emergent stories, and the modes are a blast. And that’s just All-Out Warfare. Between that, Hazard Zone, and the expansive Battlefield Portal, Battlefield 2042 has something for everyone, without feeling like it’s stretched too thin. It’s a true evolution of the series, one that pushes back against a stagnation that threatened the series’ future. It won’t be for everyone, but for players who crave imagination and fun from their Battlefields, it will give them everything that they crave and more.

Expectations for Battlefield 2042 were high, very high. Unfortunately, the game has not yet been able to fully satisfy them at the start. Problems range from balancing issues in Hazard Zone mode to the lack of standard features such as an in-game voice chat. Any yet: In hardly any other DICE shooter have we experienced such entertaining, exciting and completely crazy multiplayer matches. In order to survive within the contested multiplayer market, DICE now has to optimize the fundamentally strong pillars of Battlefield 2042 step by step.

Battlefield 2042 was released in a terrible way, but the gameplay and graphics are amazing so far. Even though DICE released it in a terrible way, it's really good now.

By far the best Battlefield game so far. I’ve played all of them, and this one is the definitive battlefield game. Mixes in the classic large scale conquest, and phenomenal CQC. 100/10. Please Dice, don’t ever change from this style of play. All the haters are COD fanboys.

The gameplay continues to be chaotic and the team-playing vibes are almost non-existent if you’re not playing together with friends. Portal is pretty much the only solid selling point right now, and unless the new Battlefield urgently receives massive improvements, it could easily turn into one of the biggest disappointments of the year.

Battlefield 2042 should have been a massive, triumphant return for the series but, as much as it scratches that itch for both small and large scale combat, it brings some unnecessary changes to its core formula while missing the mark with some of its ambitious new features. With enough support, the great first-person shooter underneath might fully surface in a few months’ time, but properly enjoying it at launch requires jumping through several hoops.

Bugs, technical issues and lags simply hold this game back from being a solid FPS. The gunplay is good and some of the maps are really great, but the game lacks some of the things that made Battlefield, Battlefield.

While I did enjoy quite a lot of my time in Battlefield 2042 (especially in the new Hazard Zone mode), there are a mix of gameplay, technical, and functionality issues of varying severity that really hamper the experience. This game is somewhat recommendable to Battlefield fans and those with a general interest in military-style shooters, but there is a strong chance that the game’s current flaws are going to really limit the potential for many. Because of this, if you’re considering this game, you may want to wait for a patch or two before you deploy to the battlefield.

The real lesson here is to stop releasing unfinished games, whether that’s server woes, optimisation issues, immersion-shattering bugs or, as is additionally the case with Battlefield 2042, an undercooked core gameplay offering that would have benefited from at least another year in the oven.

Battlefield 2042 in 2025 is, from what I understand, a nearly completely different game than it was at launch. That said, all I really have to go off is playing it since the start of this year, and honestly, I’ve had a blast. BF2042 hits exactly what I’m looking for in a PvP team-based shooter. I’ve never been a fan of vehicles, and I feel like this Battlefield has some really great maps that don’t rely on them, or at least not to the same extent as other entries. It’s a good blend of up-close CoD-style combat with some larger areas mixed in.
I’m really looking forward to what BF6 is going to offer, but I can say I more often enjoyed my time in 2042 than I loathed it. But god, some of these maps, man…

Battlefield 2042 es un juego muy bueno, aunque entiendo por qué su lanzamiento fue tan criticado. En ese momento, el enfoque principal era el multijugador online, y era inaceptable que llegara con tantos problemas: bugs, caídas de servidores, fallos de conexión, entre otros. Para una saga tan reconocida como Battlefield, era impensable presentarse así, especialmente con fuerte competencia como Call of Duty: Warzone, Fortnite o Apex Legends. Sin embargo, a pesar de ese mal inicio, sigo sosteniendo que es un excelente juego dentro de su género. Hoy en día, ofrece una experiencia completa y sin igual, una gran variedad de vehículos, armas altamente personalizables, y clases pulidas con más habilidades y funcionalidades que en entregas anteriores. Es, en muchos sentidos, el Battlefield más completo que existe. Entiendo la molestia de muchos jugadores (especialmente fans de la saga) por la ausencia de un modo historia, sobre todo considerando su precio elevado. En una época donde otros juegos multijugador eran gratuitos, esta decisión le restó puntos al lanzamiento. Es una pena que el juego siga recibiendo tanto odio, incluso de personas que nunca lo han jugado. Siento que fue víctima de review bombing, criticado por su estreno caótico, pero ignorado en su evolución. Hoy, si te gustaron títulos como BF4, BF3, Bad Company o incluso los clásicos BF1 y BF5 (que además puedes revivir dentro del juego), Battlefield 2042 vale la pena. Tiene una de las mejores gráficas, escenarios y mecánicas del mercado, cosas que muchos juegos muy alabados no tienen.
