Attack of the Toy Tanks
It’s not the longest or deepest game in the world, but with easy achievements, a solid shooting mechanic and multiplayer options, you really can’t complain too much.
Attack of the Toy Tanks would have been a great modern take on Atari’s Combat if it housed more depth, more variation, and a better core structure. Sadly, as it stands, and due to the somewhat lack of all three, it’s merely a serviceable action game that becomes far too repetitive, far too quickly. If you’ve a penchant for this sort of experience, I recommend giving it a go, but if you’re seeking something more weighted, look elsewhere.

Attack Of The Toy Tanks is Ratalaika's newest release for the Xbox One. I love their constant support for Xbox One gamers and Attack Of The Toy Tanks is one of my favorite games of theirs to date. It supports an easy achievement completion like most of their games, yet offers a great deal more play after that is all said and done unlike some of their other releases. I love the amount of value priced software releasing the last year which takes me back to the glory days of XBLA when every week you could buy an XBLA game for little and enjoy the games for countless hours. The game while based on the classic arcade game Tank or the classic Atari game Combat, yet refreshed with a modern look and new games mechanics with a retro vibe that is colorful and vibrant and at times challenging. The game is a value for the content included, the able controls, and the presentation is definitely more than you come to expect from most of the value priced offerings on the Xbox One family of consoles. Unlike a lot of retro style games re-imagined, this one doesn't require a deep love for games of the past like Tank or Combat, it just takes the basic premise of these classics and brings you a totally new experience. Don't look past a game based on price anymore as recently I've seen several value priced games by Ratalaika Games and others that are more than worth the price they asking. Achievement fans will love that they can gain 1000 gamerscore quickly and those buying it for the fun it provides will play long after the achievement set is complete. The presentation, content, and value in Attack Of The Toy Tanks alone makes it an easy recommendation for your Xbox One library.

"Attack of the Toy Tanks" Published: Ratalaika Games Developed: Petite Games Platforms: Xbox, PS4, Switch, PC Reviewed By: Carless Yen Any one remember the Atari classic "Combat" friends. Where you got pissed at them, and flung the joystick. Well that type of excitement returns here. I had such a good time with this one. I didn't get to play any one really though. Just playing the PC was a good time to me, and it wasn't super simple. To get all the Achievements you have to at least reach level 30, and that can be tough at times. The tanks have really great aim. If your looking for a challenge this game will provide that. it also provides a lot of excitement as well. Trying to strafe back and forth to not get hit, or trying to get the shot off first really keeps you on your toes and feeling the energy of this one. Has that Super Toy Cars and Toy Soldiers feel to it as well. Loved both those titles and this one delivers the same feel of being a kid in his room surrounded by his toys. . I'm not going to go to in depth on this one watch the video if you want to see more of the action. I will say as usual it delivers a lot of depth at five dollars, and also is another easy completion as trophies and achievements go. You can get them all in about thirty minutes, but the action won't end there you'll only be about halfway through the game. So give it a play , and tell us what you think. To me it's without question worth the grab at five dollars. it really delivers that old school Atari competitive feel, mixed with some modern retro looks and feels. Excuse the video some reason I thought the Atari classic was called War but it's actually "Combat" Pros: Controls are clunky, but spot on Combat really smooth and unique Tons of levels Couch Coop Cons: Not a lot to say negative, maybe more Multi Levels Overall: 7.2 Atari's Combat brought back to life on the modern console. You'll have a blast controlling clunky tanks, and blowing up the PC and your friends.
