This is a transportation management game with trains. Track laying is not ideal, also signalling and train movement, but when you get used to it, it become ok. Replayability is not great, and scenarios not always very interesting. But if you a fan, and like finetune your routes this game will entertain you for a while.
Yet another overhyped game. It is in essence puzzle game with some strategy elements. But it will definetly entertain you for several hours or so. And yes, it is very quality game.
It is very fun management game where you have to dig to pump the oil and then manage its deliveries. But the biggest downside of the game is low replayability value and lack of customization of your opponents.
A quality, quite good resource management game. It is too much depressing for my liking, and also has somewhat limited replayability. Also there are some annoyancies with interface. But generally I'd recommend to give it a try.
This is a simple game development company management sim. The simulation is not deep, and even in that case there is not enough information to take a decision. It's more like a slot machine - you press the button and then see what happens (maybe that can explain why this game is still overrated in Steam). Management of staff is awful, game sales cycle is not realistic... But, despite that, game is still worth trying, especially for those new to the genre. Wait for a good sale and you will be intertained for several hours.
Quite fun board game. A little bit chaotic, but quite well designed. A lot depends on luck, but generally finding a good balance what to do and when helps. Not tried multiplayer, for single player there could be more bots customization options, more maps.
It is a somewhat transportation simulator. Although in early game (and while you're learning) it is more or less fun, but mid to end game it just pointless clicking and doing same things over and over with very little impact. Ship automation is joke, world economy simulation is non-existent, buying businesses is also very weird mechanic with its limitations. So, this game could have a potential if not some strange game design decisions.
So far it is the worst game I ever seen. Firstly, it is constantly terminating showing some Unreal Engine 'Unknown Error', in my 15 minutes in it I needed to restart it at least 5 times. Secondly, every table or tournament is empty, game is waiting for online players, and there are none. There is no possibility to play with AI. Also, while browsing other menus, it was clear, that this game is using micro-transactions, and prices are quite agressive. So baiscally this game is some kind of skin to online casino. It was one of the free games from Epic Store this week, but even received for free it is totally unplayable and not enjoyable at all. UPD: after couple of days they fixed something, and it is possible at least to play. But playing is not comfortable at all, lot's of unnecessary animations, gameplay is too slow. And of course, main intent is to milk players through microtransations.
A funny addictive puzzle game, which puts you at stress, because you need to deal with trains which are constantly coming, while delivering cargo where it needs to be delivered and avoiding collisions. So it is a good game, with some cons as for my liking: maps could be larger, could be more scenarios, not too much reply-ability
It is a really good transport simulation game. The graphics are beautiful and it is more than enough for games like that. But, what is most important for me, room for strategical decisions, some challenge as you learn, and also re-playability (with generation of maps in free/sandbox mode) are also there. Of course, there are some simplifacations (as almost in all other modern games), and for me, some things could be more complicated or difficult. But anyway, you take on decisions about routes, engines, products, what cities to grow first etc. Also you will be dealing with traffic which rises quite fast. And building tracks, lots of tracks and placing singals and make everything optimized. Maps are big enough, there are about 20-25 products in each timeline (and some different ones in addons), which is also somewhat enough, AI is quie challenging to play (if you will not exploit it ;) but it's up to you, how to play). So, while there is sitll some room for improvements (maybe it is more just some tweaks here and there), the game is quite good in its current state, it is somewhat addictive and challenging. Maybe I do not recommend to buy it at current full price, but with decent discount it is totally worth it.
This is a minimalistic transport (metro) simulation strategy game. It is well executed, at first it looks really charming and beautiful. But eventually you find the game lacks a strategical depth. Games are rather short and strategical choices are quite limited. It is more like a casual strategy game (whats why the devs busy to publish it on mobile platforms), than a metro simulation game. You cannot save or replay a game. Also there is no a long promised map editor, which could keep some more interest in the game.
As a fan of a transport simulation genre after seeing all these very positive comments everywhere I decided to buy this one. And I was rather disappointed. Graphics and user interface are very outdated and annoying (but we all know it's not a main thing in games like this), but the gameplay is mediocre and overall transport simulation is not at a very detailed level which is more important. It's definetely not a very good game, despite very positive comments made by fanboys. Actually couldn't recommend this one except maybe for collectors.
It's a decent 4x game. It has some deepness indeed and vast modding capabilities. What I disliked most is the user interface. Just too many unnecessary clicks. Some things regarding your empire could be seen and done easier. The graphics is not the strongest thing in this game, although I understand, that it is not very important thing in games like that.
This is a bit different game comparing to Tropico 1, and it's not a better one, as for my opinion. Gameplay is not that catching, and simulation feels a bit strange. Graphics are more or less ok, but again, I liked Tropico 1 more. But anyway, it's worth a try for a management strategy game lover.
It's a quite good transport sim. Graphics are nice and you can observe your vehicles almost forever! There are a lot of nice features like timetables and building roads. But there are some more or less annoying bugs and not perfect city life simulation (which possible very hard to program precisely in any case). When playing custom games you can change some game parameters (like time speed, density of people in buildings, etc.) to make city simulation a bit more realistic. Overall it's a very good, although quite slow pace, simulation game.
In this game you must manage your own hospital. The game actually is fun, graphics are ok despite its age. You will get some kind of tutorial and occasional tips through the game. Sometimes there are some moments when you're not sure what to do, but mostly you're busy to manage your hospital. Definitely must try.
It's a very fun 4x space strategy game where you compete not vs over similar civilizations (like in a classical space 4x game), but vs AI which have already been developed. You should plan you defences and plan your developement and attacks. The graphics and sounds and UI are not perfect (although definitely doing ok), but gameplay is! For those with modern displays the text is really too small on high resolution, but it's easy to change resolution and set up your display not to stretch graphics and have fun.
It's quite nice city building simulation game. You should care about different aspects of Roman city life, and actually you really need to plan your city to win some scenarios. Simulation level is quite high, but some things are not so accurate or logical. Anyway, it's a really good game and worth a try.
It's a great strategic 4x game, nice graphics and very addictive gameplay. That 'one more turn' thing appears almost at the very beginning. It's definitely a must play.
First of all, this game's release date is 1 June 2000 (not Oct 8, 2010 as stated here on moment of writing). The game itself is expansion of original X: Beyond the Frontiers. Actually it is a lightly tweaked original version, and tweaked in right way. But things I didnt like in original version stayed here too, to mention some most important for me: bit strange economy simulation (which pretends to be 'real', but is not) and not so 'living' universe. So basically this game is little bit better than original, and is OK. If you're a big fan of space sims I think you should try this.
It's a not bad 4x space turn-based strategy game with some decent customization options but weak graphics and poor user interface. Complexity and depth is not that outstanding for games of that genre, and gameplay is OK too, although there are some nice ideas. The 'one more turn' thing appeared after 2-3 hours of play, but didn't last for very long. So I would give 9 for gameplay, strategy and complexity, 10 for race cutomization, 6 for graphics (but I understand, it is not so import in games like this) and 3 for user interface (I think it IS important in games like this).
What a beatiful game! Despite a not so beatiful graphics (but anyway, game is from 2000, it's just 2.5d), the gameplay is just awesome and game itself is very very fun and addictive! Some campaign missions are very challenging, you really should think about your strategy and plan things carefully. This game is highly recommended to try.
Beautiful graphics (as for 2001). Nice and smooth gameplay, good tutorial, you're getting into the game quite fast. If you like games with indirect control this game is really for you. Although economy simulation balance is little bit more on casual side, not on hardcore one. But anyway, game is really funny and definitely should have a try.
Very addictive game. Overall game is very good, but not perfect. Simulation level is quite high, although there are some aspects when there is no ingame information why exactly something is like this or that, and it seems some things are just hardcoded. Also interface could be a little bit better, especially when creating automated trade route. Graphics are ok as for game of this type. And there are few casual gaming elements added to the game, to make it not so 'dry' probably, but they should be either less casual, or they just could be skipped.
This is definitely good game. But not excellent. I am fan of Civilization series, played a lot even Civilization I (which, in my opinion is slightly better than this). And I'll try to explain, why. Despite so addictive gameplay, graphics could be better (at least more user friendly, more readable). Also when your civilization is big enough there are too many unnecessary clicks at the endgame dealing with cities micromanagement. Barbarian spawning is not logical. And unhappy people in the cities at the endgame are too annoying and again not so logical too. City management interface could be better. For example when you are in the city mode, you cannot see amount of maintenance cost.
