they messed it up. Uno was a game on xbox live arcade on the 360, and it was glorious. all they had to do, was take the XBL version of uno from about a decade ago, and put it on ps4 and xbox one. instead, they messed up. 1. all cards are highlighted rather than just ones you can play. this makes no sense. if you can only play 2 of your 7 cards, it will still highlight all of them. this is a huge change from the 360 version, which would kinda grey out cards you couldn't use. 2. video chat is friends only. probably the worst issue in the game right now, is that video chat (which was one of the huge things in uno for 360) is impossible to set to public. the best part of uno back then was all the whacky things you would see in video chat, and just chilling with randoms as you play some cards. it's impossible in this game, so this game is not worth it unless you like just plain uno. 5/10 is average, this is below average. so it gets a 3/10. if they fix video chat and fix the cards blacking out it would easily be a 7+/10
remember that game on 360 that was pretty cool at the time but was a shotgun fest that people abandoned shortly after it came out? I do too, rather than remaking all of them in a collection or the ones people played the most they remade the original, which while it had a great single player campaign it isn't worth the price of admission by a long shot. we shouldn't encourage such expensive single game remakes either, thus a low score for a game you should pass on unless you have the biggest hard on for gears imaginable. if it included gears 2 and 3 it would have been a 9.
great collection of rare classics, sadly though many older games have horrible controls that cannot be changed making games like jet force gemini and conquers bad fur day difficult to play. graphics were also not touched for most games so it looks horrible. however, at such a low price for the collection and banjo kazooie and it's sequel being playable (as they ported the 360 remake) it makes it worth it. I really wish they would have redone the controls and graphics of the other games though. conquers bad fur day and jet force gemini were some great games but it nearly impossible to get into them with the controls and very dated graphics. if you are fans for the 360 rare games (kameo, viva pinata, banjo remasters, banjo nuts and bolts) then the game is a must buy. if you wanted to JUST play conquers bad fur day, you might wanna wait for a price drop.
Nice art style, decent content, decent sound. not the best tower defense game i've played, but it's still a decent pick up for fans of TD games. it's also simple enough for beginners. I haven't gotten to far in the game due to real life but it seems to have a good amount of content for fans of the genre. in short, not bad but not the best.
I wasn't hyped by destiny like most, after the alpha I wasn't expecting much at all. the full game is just as expected, bland, boring and repetitive just like the alpha and beta releases of the game. The game has great shooter mechanics. which is it's only positive. it's bungie though, so what did you expected? they are the reason shooters on console are so popular. I just wonder how did everything else go wrong? since I went through the positive lets go through the negative. -bullet sponge enemies, every boss has high health for the sake of high health. it becomes a chore to kill bosses. -repetitive strikes are the core of the game. every strike is "go here, kill wait for the robot thing to open a door, fight boss that takes forever to kill because it has high health" every boss feels the same too. they all spawn other enemies and they all just sit there eating bullets. -the worlds feel lifeless and dead. they could have put the whole thing on earth and no one would have known you touched another planet. no humans are seen other than the tower. I'm sure people would at least attempt to scavenge stuff from earth. - story is non-existent. it's like a bunch of random ideas put together into a "story". there is no character development and you will see what you would think are major characters and never see them again! it's insanely poor. - poor character dialog. Peter Dinkleage is a great voice actor but the horrible writing kills his performance. -Crucible is just boring. crucible is the pvp mode, it's bad. how the people who made halo messed up pvp idk. everyone has a sniper or shotgun because green (special) ammo drops like candy. map design for the most part is poor. vehicles are annoying more than awesome like in halo. it's just sad this happened. -no mini map to see where you are going, the game worlds aren't big but they are a maze so getting to a certain area can be hard. overall. destiny isn't the innovative experience people wanted. it's just a bad borderlands rip off with a crap PVP mode tacked on I am glad to see critics actually giving it poor reviews and people alike.
Fun while it lasts. Watch dogs is a great premise and a decent game overall but the game hits a wall where it becomes a chore to play. I got up to 70% completion before I hit this wall. the hacking aspect is good but it needed more. you can only hack a few things and most things don't work as you would want. example is police chases. when the cops are called something called a "ctOS" scan is started, which is supposed to be a series of all the cameras in the city looking for you. the problem is, it doesn't work that way. it puts a bubble on your mini map and if you are in it a % indicator goes up, if it hits 100% the cops TELEPORT to you. the police chases itself aren't to bad. unlike GTA 5 cops do not have ESP. but you cannot shoot while driving. only hack. and if you are on foot. you die VERY fast. there are various side activities to do, but most are chores or boring in general. probably the best part about the game is the invasions for online play. players can join your single player world and hack you or stalk you. you have to find them before they hack you (it gives you a small search area first) it's unique because it makes you paranoid. thankfully you can turn this mode off, but it resets your multiplayer rank completely if you do. there are some other online modes but for the most part they aren't special. overall the game is only slightly above average. it wasn't worth the wait. GTA 5 is a much better game, has much more content as well. if you NEED a new game, watchdogs isn't bad. but if are content with what you have, just pass it or wait for a price drop.
2nd 0 rating ever all because the game doesn't work. first off, you have a 90% chance of the game not letting you log in because it will claim you do not have a connection. if this was the only major problem though it wouldn't be SO bad. the biggest issue is, even when you do get to play, the game doesn't let you fly. you cannot Pull up. simply put the controls are broken. no matter how you set them you can't pull up or go down. you basically can only fly straight. but that is ok right? because you can customize controls right? NOPE. the game will CRASH the minute you try changing controls. I have tried multiple times. completely avoid this game. it just doesn't work. now, thankfully, I had a EU account when the game launched so I can actually review what the game is like when it works. It's kinda boring. basically take the mediocre world of tanks game and make it with planes. there you go. the controls were still annoying but not unplayable like it is now. the game gets really stupid as you level up since other players can have higher tech planes than you or more unlocks. this wouldn't be so bad but there is no respawns. games were determined within 2 minutes of starting. if you have 1 bad player you are at a SEVERE disadvantage. the battle damage is probably the only good part about the game, it's cool that you can take damage and your plane will function but be worse off. but this has been done way back in the 90's with combat flight simulator, it's nothing new and it's actually worse in this game than back then. overall, when the game worked 3/10 but since the game is unplayable now 0/10 2nd time I ever rated something so low (first was the broken sim city game!) so that should give you an idea how serious I am about this junk game. hopefully sony removes it from the playstation store or force them to fix it to be at least playable.
review update since there are more updates and stuff. a lot of the lag is fixed, they added some new warframes. the game once you understand it is pretty great. there is lots of value in getting better gear, getting orokin void keys and running those levels, farming bosses for warframe part drops. the game is fun. but many levels involve annoying platforming elements which ****. other than that it isn't bad though. overall, one of the best ps4 games out right now, and best of all it's free. 9/10 easily especially for the price, can't wait for more updates.
My friend made me play dc universe online on ps4. it' free, so I figured why not. I played it on ps3, beat the tutorial and never touched it again, I hated it. for some reason on ps4 I find it kinda fun. it's not the best mmo, it needs more polish but being free, it's nice to try out. there is lots of variety as you make your character with different element, weapon, and super hero or villain as your mentor. example, I made a guy who can fly, mentored by super man who uses Staves and the element of fire. my friend flys, also mentored by super man, but has the power of plants, and can heal.. I have only played about 3 days, but I can say it's worth playing. 6/10 needs more polish but worth trying to all.
it's a side scrolling shooter, standard NES style 1 hit death limited lives style side scrolling shooter. the game is beautiful, simple, and best of all, FREE with psn+. the game really shines in co-op. but with only like 5 levels, it isn't as stellar as people try to make it out to be. if you want to rate a game fairly, you have to rate it at it's actual price ($15 for this) but since it's free from the start, i'm rating it as a free game. 7/10 and being generous about it.
where do I begin? COD Ghosts is what happens when you milk a series to the max. the game is just... mediocre all over. graphically the game doesn't feel next gen the single player ****, normally I love COD single player for at least 1 play through but I barely made it through COD ghosts, it's bad. the final 2 missions are the only good ones. the multiplayer has all the issues with other cod games (getting shot makes you aim up in the air for no reason, quick scoping, and panic knifing, terrible spawns) but nothing that makes it fun. since battlefield 4 and killzone shadow fall is 60fps now, the smooth feeling can be found in other games both of those games run 60fps so it's smooth like cod, and both look better. there is just no reason to play cod anymore. the only new and welcome addition is extinction mode which is somewhat like **** zombies. the game mode is kinda fun but it's not enough to redeem the game. COD Ghosts is the epitome of mediocrity. if you like cod, get battlefield 4 and get cod as well.
Killzone is one of the best looking games out there. but sadly that is all it will be known for. the story is forgettable, confusing, and sadly pretty boring.. it's pretty long, but it isn't satisfying. the multiplayer is just average. imagine COD if everyone had juggernaught x5. it has it's moments but it's not special. Killzone feels like nothing more than a tech demo for the ps4. but I can't give it a high score for graphics. it's an average game with great graphics, and for that, 6/10
by far, BF4 is the best retail game on ps4. the multiplayer is intense. 64 player combat in great it truly feels like a war is going on from the beginning of the match to the end. The smaller game modes like domination also feel like call of duty, it's like 2 games in one, awesome and fast paced infantry combat in domination mode, and epic large scale war in conquest. the single player isn't much to talk about, it's fun, but it's short and not really worth replaying. the only real issues with the game are bugs. lag in conquest hurts it, the game crashes sometimes too. it's gotten a lot better since release but it has a way to go. 8.5 out of 10. since I can't select that I am going 9/10 (rounded up) if you want a next gen shooter, BF4 is it.
Dust 514 is refreshing in the shooter world by giving purpose to your combat. the better you do the more you earn in both skill points (xp) and isk (in game money) almost everything you use in dust 514 is something you must buy, from your armor to your gun. on the flip side, every time you kill another person they lost that as well. from tanks to aircraft to men on the ground every kill is a loss to another player. one of the biggest things in dust 514 is the skill point system, every battle you earn SP and you put that SP into many different skills that improve you in different areas or allow you to use better items. progression in dust 514 is very exciting and is more like MMO's are on PC. Dust 514 isn't perfect, but it's pretty good. the game is still getting support from developers and will be for at least 3 more years with free DLC and content patches, so if you support free DLC then download that game. Oh yea, dust 514 is FREE on ps3, it's one of the best and least talked about ps3 exclusive but a game everyone should download.
a $20 game sold for $60 very mediocre and short single player, not worth replaying at all. Firefight is a new mode where you basically play horde mode, but you litterally play the same waves of enemies in the same order and getting the achievements takes forever. it's mind numbing an tedious. doesn't have it's own multiplayer vs mode, just gives you halo 3 again, wow thanks I have halo 3 and it's DLC like every other fan of the series. I know this review is years late but people are talking about it again since halo 4 was bad and considered the worst in the series, but many forget how bad ODST was. worst in the series, WORSE than halo 4.
I would characterize Defiance as the perfect starter mmo. it's easy to get into and understand but it's a true MMO on consoles. First off, people who are scared that it ties into the TV show don't be, the game stands on it's own and unlike most tv or movie games the gameplay is pretty good. Defiance is unique even in the mmo world. it's a third person shooter and you actually have to aim and shoot bullets have to hit you to hurt you. during most missions any other player can be in the same zone and help you with missions and vice versa, unlike other MMO games, having multiple people doing the same mission doesn't hurt your chances of getting the kill or finding items, if we have to get 4 medical supplies and I get 3 of them, you only need to get the last one to finish the quest. besides the main story and side missions, there is a co-op mode where 4 people go through what amounts to a dungeon. there are about 8 co-op missions. on the matchmaking front there is also 2 team deathmatch maps, and a capture and hold style game mode with 3 points. there is also "shadow war" which is basically battlefield 3 conquest but takes place in the actual game world, it has 20vs20 player matches (probably more, most I had was 20vs20) the best part of the game is arkfalls, which are world events where anyone who goes fights monsters, over 50 people on screen fight to kill the big bosses is exciting. now for the negatives first is bugginess, trion has already done some patches to fix disconnects and other issues, but they have a lot of work to do thankfully things ARE getting done. 2nd there are many MMO elements missing, there is no crafting, and progression is terrible, lvl 600 here and I feel about the same as lvl 20. the max level is like 4000 though. 3 end game content is non existent, basically pvp and arkfalls are all you do if you aren't doing missions or a co-op map. 4. graphics are bad but seriously graphics are not the most important thing in a game. so basically like many MMO's there isn't enough content, but lets remember this is one of the only MMOs on console, and furthermore you actually have to aim and the game takes skill. with that I give it a 7/10, there is lots of room for improvement but anyone who wants to try an MMO for the first time, or wants a shooter that isn't the same old same old should try defiance.
don't know how they could screw up any more than they did. terrible AI, terrible graphics, mediocre multiplayer, mediocre story, and they have the nerve to sell DLC. gearbox shouldn't be allowed to make games.
always online DRM means no servers no playing game didn't need it, they put it in there for no reason. can't share saves and you HAVE to save to their servers city sizes are terribly small, in fact you can probably build a bigger city in sim city 2000 which came out in like the 90's the AI is terrible, you will have fire fighters drive in circles or wait in traffic. it's stupid. if you want a real city builder, get cities XL, tropico 4, or go back and play sim city 4, if you support this game you don't support gaming. the 0 score is for not working, and the few times it lets you play, the gameplay is terrible.
want to play gears 3 with a worse campaign and content removed? me neither. Gears of war judgement is a prequel to the gear of war series, you follow Baird and "kilo" squad in the standard "world is dead/dieing" gears of war campaign. the scenary is nice as unlike gears 1-3 the world isn't quite killed yet you see less dirt and grime, it's nice to see what the gears world looked like before the invasion. the story is pretty mediocre and same old gears style gameplay, walk a bit, enemies appear, kill them and move **** declassified missions are the only new and good part to the campaign, which change the game slightly making it a bit harder and different, it's nothing amazing. there are new weapons, a semi auto sniper, a semi auto locus rifle, a grenade launcher, and stim grenades. the new semi auto cog sniper is AMAZINGLY over powered, be prepaired to kill grinders in 3 headshots (10 shots in a clip) campaign scoring seems to be gone which is terrible, the story is also in complete. for example, in part of the game you arm and fire a giant missile, against a direct order, the colonel states the missile is "going to be used elsewhere" but you never find out where it was intended to be used... many other scenarios play out in the game. Over run is the new game mode. one team is locust and can use the locust monsters and the other is cog and can use one of 4 classes each having different skills. honestly the game mode is decent but imbalanced. the cog sniper class has the most over powered sniper rifle in almost any game this gen. Locust players can kill the objective by simply shooting at it or widdling down it's health with coordinated ticker attacks or grenade throws... pretty bad. Remember horde, the game mode everyone loved? well they thought instead of doing that you would want to play over run vs AI. literally that's all it is. half the time if you use the matchmaking for this mode you are thrown in by yourself with useless AI on your team, and I mean useless I rather have a 10 year old kid on my team than the 4 ai characters combined. oh and there are only 5 maps... 5 maps in total. some of the older game modes like warzone and execution are gone, speaking of executions there is no real emphasis on them anymore, who cares if that's what started gears of war's popularity right? the down but not out mode is gone in multiplayer so its not like you see them outside of campaign now, they also don't have unlockable ones like in gears 3. no more active reload in multiplayer can't have a pistol unless you drop one of your primary weapons. over all, you lose out on this game. gears 2 and 3 are much better games and gears 1 has a better single player anyway. the only thing that give this game a 4 instead of something lower is the game actually works, i had no game breaking bugs, and over run, though broken, is a good game mode in and of itself, the problem is they removed the older stuff for it, they needed a good horde mode a better single player and many other things to bring this up want to play gears of war? buy the first 3 games, you will save money and get a better game.
Far cry 3 drops you into a beautiful open world full of wildlife, pirates, and mercenaries. the game is very colorful and you will find yourself lost looking at the beauty of the game, under the ocean, on a cliffside and on sandy beaches. the single player was pretty well don, offering around 20 hours of gameplay it is short, but if you go collecting the collectibles and doing the side mission it can extend a bit longer. where the single player is so good, the rest of the game lacks, which is sad because the multiplayer in the game is some of the best this gen, simple and elegant the vs mode puts 2 teams vs each other in one of a few game modes including team deathmatch, transmission ( sort of like headquarters) domination, and a mode called firestorm. the multiplayer is pretty simple, there is a form of killsteaks that hark back to the COD4 days, there is nothing extraordinarily powerful and things like "scouts" don't last very long the best part about the streaks in this game is you don't lose it when u die. Camping has been a minimum since I got the game. now for the issues with the game. lets start with the obvious, bugs in single player are game breaking. unlike most games, you cannot save in more then 1 file, so if your file gets a bug no reloading to last save, some bugs include the inability to use your camera ( can't progress in the game). The multiplayer matchmaking is CRAP, there is no party system, it's hard to play with friends. it's frustrating that in this day in age a game is released without a way to play with friends easily. map editor- the map editor was the sole reason farcry 2 was worth it, player made maps were amazing and better then the developer made **** map editor in farcry 3 no longer allows vehicles, ammo, or AI. there used to be race maps and many other kind of maps in far cry 2, but they are now impossible. co-op, it's an ok mode but not free roam at all, the only real complaint is that it isn't as good as it should have been... if ubisoft fixes the multiplayer and map editor this game would be amazing.... but sadly, the best features of the series are not present in the newest game that said, far cry 3 is the best shooter this year..
update graphics a bit, still probably the worst halo this gen, and that is saying something halo 4 isn't even fun. that is the problem single player story ( normally considered top notch) is mediocre at best. the forge mode which was normally fun in halo reach and 3 is practically non-existant in halo 4, why is it even a feature? the multiplayer, which is the reason anyone gets halo if Freaking terrible, everyone hated reach, well halo 4 is worse. it isn't fun in the slightest. I wish halo would be fun again like in halo 1 or 2, but we still get garbage with the halo tag. the graphics look better, but they don't feel halo, because instead of colorful worlds were get gears of war grey. none of the covenant look like they used too, its just grey on grey action. oh and master chief is grey now too, awesome. anyone who loved forge games in halo 3 or reach might as well not get this game at all, because forge has no freedom anymore. anyone giving this game a 10 needs to be ignored it's a bad game with halo one the title and it's all they see.
I knew it was going to be bad. But this is BAD.
Gameplay over all
graphics- 2/10 looks like a wii game
sound 4/10
controls 0/10 please please please stop making kinect games or fix the controls
FUN 1/10 its cool for like 2 mins.. then you get the "oh no i bought this " feeling. total 3/10 Value overall... well i couldn't stand playing it so not sure, look like a 3/10 though Over all game? 3/10 easy... its playable, but barely, its not fun, and if it was the last game in the universe i rather take up knitting.
its fun.
i was in the beta for the game and i can say this is something i have really enjoyed.
at only $15 its not bad for someone who wants to play a decent shooter now and then
there are some balancing issues, not enough maps either but over all its one of the best shooters you can get. i'd give it a 7.5
Ignore the critics. alright guys mass effect, i'm sure everyone is going to get it one day. but reviews should be based on the retail price at release so here we go.
ME3 is just like ME2, you get the goodies of character interaction, voice acting, and the awesome story. the combat has gotten a little clunkier as seen by the demo, but its not too bad. the reason mass effect is getting such a low score is how long it is.. you can do it all in 30-40 hours after that might as well sell the game compare that to skyrim's 170 hours, or dragon age origins 70 hours.
do yourselves a favor, save $ and wait until this hits the $20 price it should have started at. personally i'l be picking up batman arkam city since it is a good price now (30) side note, didn't do multiplayer yet, but from the demo it will be boring in a day just play Horde in gears and you get the idea.
KoA is an amazing new IP and I welcome it to the RPG genre. The combat is hands down some of the best you can have in a RPG, its fluid and feels like your doing damage.
The art style works well and reminds me of Fable or borderlands.
Don't listen to the reviewers that claim this isn't an open world, because if you get past the tutorial dungeon, it is as open as the fable or mass effect series.
The loot system is superb with the WoW styled White
EvE online itself is a fantastic game. It does something other MMO's do not. It gives a harsh universe with incredible depth.
one of the best things about eve online is almost every item has a purpose and can be used effectively to beat players who have played longer then you.
In wow an item, no matter how awesome, that is for a level 15 will be worthless and have no purpose.
in eve even the smallest frigates can be used in PVP and PVE. Crucible brought in great additions to the game itself.
we got 4 new ships, and a re commitment to the space fights the game is known for.
in the latest patch player owned starbases were updated so they are now easier to maintain. there were other updates as well, too many to mention but its good to see a good game get better. I give eve a 9/10 as it can always get better.
please note that i would give this game a 9.8/10 not a perfect 10, as no games are perfect.
Skyrim is the best RPG to come to 360 by far, full of a vast wilderness, engaging story, and countless side quest that will leave you wishing the day wouldnt end. so far there have been almost no bugs, so whoever wrote the negative reviews are crazy or never played an elderscrolls game.
though it hasnt happened to me i'm sure there are game freezes, so save every once in a while ( dont rely on auto save)
there are numerous creatures to hunt, foxes, dear, elk, mammouth, hawks each provide you with materials to make new armor and weapons.
honestly the game is just big to sum up in a little review if you like RPGs get the game it's fun, has a good story, and there is enough to get lost in.
By far, skyrim is the best RPG on 360
Bored already
Games used to be about fun, and not fun for a day, but fun for months, sometimes years until you were tired of it.
MW3 has lasted a total of 14 hours across single player, spec op, and multiplayer and its boring already. the singleplayer is decent, but nothing special, thankfully it wraps up the story as opposed to halo which leaves you with a cliff hanger each time spec op is as expected, fun for a playthrough with a friend, but nothing more survival mode, the new mode is a blast, but IW/sledgehammer/activision really dropped the ball, its only 2 players! i it was 4 people, it could be the new zombies/horde mode.. but with only one other person its nothing anymore. multiplayer is the biggest let down, i was hoping for he COD4 glory days of fun and frantic fire fights. instead the hit detection and lag is terrible.
you can get shot one time and die, but on the kill cam your shot 5 times. terrible. also magic bending bullets return, the series signature lag feature. the killstreaks are back but you can have weaker killstreaks that wont reset on death good for people who don't game and run around like me, they also generally help your team instead your your K/D so i enjoy them
the maps are terrible. these can be the worst maps to be put in a 360 game. they also completely recycle COD4 buildings, which isnt bad but if you do that just remake the amazing cod 4 maps. all in all, the game is a rent. i picked up battlefield 3 and its loads more fun then Mw3, then skyrim comes out Friday so this will be left in the dust.
if your a huge fan of the story, rent for the single player, it doesnt leave you feeling empty and is worth a playthrough not worth a buy
