I think most buyers of the game that hate it don't take the time to dig into the deep mechanics. Yes, on the surface it seems simple. If you gloss over the controls but don't bother going into the create a character and looking at the ratings, move-sets and logic, you're missing out. Customization is fantastic, the modding community is bustling with activity, and it constantly surprises me with little details that make this game fun (IE, settings for random guys in your stable-or opponents stable- running into the ring, having a manager ring side, etc.). This is the first fire pro game I've played and I love the flexibility and gameplay. It could be that because I'm older, I dig the graphics and overall style of the game. But it still plays ten times deeper than what I've seen across other wrestling titles. It's not a button masher, it requires timing and true strategy to win in this game. This was definitely worth the 20 bucks or so that I paid. I've spent that on much worse in my lifetime.
I love the more tactical shooter games where communication is key. Loved R6 Vegas and the Last of Us for the same reasons. THIS game adds new tactical dimensions not seen before and it has been a blast. I will say that in the early going I've had some problems trying to team-up with friends (constant error messages, causing me to restart my router) but I'm confident this will get fixed. And I too, was bummed about no campaign, but love that they are rolling out new maps and operators (characters) every quarter this year for free. IT DEFINITELY DESERVES A HIGHER RATING THAN 6.6. Way too many people didn't research the game before buying and rated it a zero. Come on guys. Zero? Really?
Contender for game of the year. It's been a long wait, but man has it been worth it. Great battle mechanics, much to do (with purpose) and guess what? It doesn't fee grindy (say what?). This is because Bioware, does what it does well and offers solid STORIES. Not just a good main story, but hundreds of good side stories (so far). Thank you, Bioware!
The negative scores must have come from those not familiar with this type of game, basing it off of the beta, or are too young to get some of the pop culture references. This game is a HUGE, strategical and tactical gem. The writing, voice acting and world has been masterfully done. Oh, did I say interesting? So many little cool things around the wasteland to find. However, if you don't like to take your time and read some of the great dialogue and story that is in this game, you might want to skip this. You cant just breeze through the wasteland. And to be honest, I wouldn't want to. The user score on metacritic doesn't do this game justice. Check out youtube to get a feel for the game play before you buy, so you don't flame the boards about how this wasn't what you expected.
