The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Dragonborn

Once again, the employees at Bethesda have shown themselves to be truly dedicated to the entertainment and satisfaction of their fans. Dragonborn is epic. Solstheim is very large and offers a refreshing change of pace from the Nordic society of mainland Skyrim, allowing the player to instead observe the now-struggling Dunmer culture of Solstheim. It's amazing to see the typical morrowin wildife including netches, silt striders, and giant mushroom houses all in full Skyrim HD. However, the true show-stopper in terms of visual appeal is Hermaeus Mora's realm of Apocrypha. This plane of Oblivion far outstrips the generic fire and brimstone of Mehrunes Dagon's Deadlands in every conceivable way. It's dark, threatening, beautifully designed, and completely filled with literally hundreds of well-written works of in-game literature that expand upon the series' lore and makes the world of Nirn feel alive like never before. The only gripe that holds this DLC back from true greatness is the dragon-riding. There's no gettin around it: the commercial highlight of this expansion is an unharacteristically lazy, clumsy, and poorly executed experience. Regardless, this DLC is truly fantastic and a worthy addition to the most expansive RPG in the industry.

Having grown up on the hit TV series Avatar: The Last Airbender, I also bought and played this game. I recently replayed it and I must say that it doesn't live up to the show's standard of quality, but is by no means terrible. This is obviously the closest we'll ever come to a good Avatar game (which would be amazing, given the spectacular setting) so it might as well be enjoyed.

The graphics of this game are phenomenal, but the story leaves room for wanting and the gameplay, though dynamic and colorful (thanks to the aforementioned graphics) can be floaty and simplistic. The playerbase is unfortunately barren and desolate, but the PvE is more enjoyable than in most MMOs, so it isn't a game-breaking issue. Overall, this is a good game and it helped to mend my grief at the cancellation of the Amalur MMO.

Dark Crusade is a rare triumph in PC strategy gaming. The 7 races are rich both in character and in fighting style, each with a substantial variety of different infantry and vehicular units, as well as an epic pantheon of heroes. The story mode is interesting and varied, and can be played through multiple times with different races and outcomes. Probably the most impressive element of this epic game, however, is the shockingly versatile camera, allowing for stunning cinematic battle scenes completely in real-time. The only downsides (and there are few) are the terrible difficulty customization, which changes enemy unit strength instead of their strategy, and the limited multiplayer options for those who don't own the core game. Overall, though, these really don't even put a dent in the overall experience. Buy this game and bring the grim darkness of the far future straight to your PC!

The only real problem with this game is that it got so big that people who just don't understand what Bethesda or TES is all about started buying it. For anyone who has played the previous TES or Fallout games, this game is a dream come true. The world feels much more real than in Oblivion, with fantastic and varied environments and a story steeped in complex politics and allegiances. The combat system is incredibly refreshing, feeling fresh and responsive, with far more impact and weight than the previous games. Don't worry about bugs, they're a disgustingly exaggerated rarity and shouldn't hamper your experience at all. GO BUY THIS GAME!

This game is fantastic! It gives us all the epic sci-fi game experience we've been waiting for, with excellent exploration and possibly the best character development in gaming. As the badass commander Shepard and his motley crew of lesser badasses, you can explore a galaxy filled with depth and complicated yet amazingly solid lore. As for the famous/infamous sexual content, I thought they hid it very well for those not interested, such as myself (although the asari come off as a ridiculous sexual fantasy designed to cater to the most pathetic in the audience). There are also several dlc instances where you can pilot a sky-car or drive around in a tank. While these segments lack the polish of the mainstream gameplay, they are scarce enough to remain fresh and exciting. Unfortunately, this installment of the trilogy lacks the epic space battles and conflicting, galaxy-shaking choices of the first and third game. Also, the combat and rpg elements are so dumbed-down that I would call it more of a story-focused tps than an rpg. Regardless, this is a fantastic game with an incredible story and you should check it out.
