Not as bad as reviews make it seem, you can have plenty fun! Probably a 6 but i have no respect for games you buy and then have to buy additional characters. I don't even mind microtransactions that are purely cosmetic but this is not it.
I rarely quit on games, even if I don't like them. For me, Forsaken was a horrible couple of hours. Most if the game is lacking personality and wasn't engaging at all. Still get's a 3 because the movement was nice. Combat was OK but carried by the movement. Without these elements i'd give it a 0 or 1.
On the subject of quality compared to other remakes - this is top notch. I don't enjoy playing older 3D games because of graphics. Would never play Demon Souls original again but this remaster is very true to the Originals gameplay and at the same time improves the graphics and feeling drastically.
Gameplay - amazing
Map design - perfect
Storytelling - top notch
Character archs - wow Only thing holding this from a 10 is that the quest design gets a little bit repetitive and sometimes feels more like doing chores than following a story.
Almost every boss feels like a skill check and you rarely feel like it's unfair. The map design, boss design, storytelling are all better than the base game according to me. Would give this DLC 9.5 if decimals were allowed!
Finished the game and felt zero satisfaction. To many systems, trophies on PS5 are written in mandarine. To many bosses where you just use a fire weapon and mash buttons. I follow stories on around 75% of the games i play. I lost interest after an hour or two. If you love getting lost and missing having a million ways to screw up the story but having great mobile combat - this game is for you!
