Life seems to work in mysterious ways, although I don’t think I would ever imagine a situation where catching feelings for your captor is possible, but it is, and it is a syndrome called Stockholm Syndrome, which was developed after the bank robbery in Stockholm Sweden in 1973. The movie "Stockholm" portrays the story of the woman who seemed to have fallen under the spell of her captor after being held hostage in the bank for multiple days. It’s a very unusual and thought-provoking story line that I thought the movie did a great job of exemplifying. Strongly suggest everyone go see this movie.

A star studded cast is just one of the many attributes of this incredible film titled Saint Judy. Actors like Michelle Monaghan, Common, and Alfre Woodward, just to name a few, turn this incredible and inspiring true story into a movie unlike any other I’ve seen. Throughout this film we see Michelle Monaghan transform into the strong headed woman named Judith Woods, who singlehandedly changes the world for the better, one immigration case at a time. Judy sees the good in all people, whether that’s a good thing or not, but she believes in second chances and for that I applaud her. This story is one that I enjoyed watching in movie form, and I think most people would agree with that statement, so I highly recommend it.

Imagine living your whole life not knowing your true identity, or the history of your family, and then traveling thousands of miles away from home to meet family for the first time only to unfold secrets that will ultimately destroy your whole family line. That’s exactly what happens to Ronnie, main character played by Jaz Deol, when he travels to India, to initially be with his mother after an accident, but what leads him to unfold the dark and twisted secrets of her past life in witchcraft and spiritual matters. This movie threw me through many loops and turns, but giving me an ending that shook me to the core, and was unexpected to say the least. Highly recommend anyone looking for a horror mixed thriller to watch this movie.

In this compelling film about the real-life struggles of being a single mom trying to sustain a life for her and her 2 kids, you see the strength and resilience of a woman come out to play. When facing the hardships of life and the battle between her and her troubled son, her true testament is shown. Lead actress, Regina Williams, is from Tallahassee, FL where the film was shot and produced. Regina comes to the big screen for the first time and shows us that to be an actress you just need to be able to give the rawest and most authentic performance to relate to the plot, and this is exactly what she does. Her acting was so compelling and incredible and I loved every minute of it, I highly recommend that anyone who loves a strong woman role watch this film.

In this South African film, you have a man named Randal, played by Irshaad Ally, and a woman named Pam, played by the wonderful Monique Rockman. After Randal witnesses a murder he tries to use this horrible act of crime to his advantage, and use it to forward himself and Pam out of this crime ridden world they have to live in. To add to the chaos, Randal struggles through life as a paraplegic, but after receiving a pair of binoculars, his life changes forever. Pam really stood out in this movie because of how strong headed, and willing she was to help her one true love, when he couldn’t help himself. Time and time again she put her life on the line for him, and herself, and I have an everlasting amount of respect for her, forever team Pam. Highly suggest this movie for anyone out there who likes to see a badass woman take charge and get stuff done.
