Saw this at the Istanbul Film Festival, a polite crowd, because my wife and I were whispering that back home in the US the crowd would be laughing out loud about midway through. Seemed like something some high school students may put together. Many scenes just burned up seconds for no reason. I think I was supposed to be awed by the scenery, but after a minute or two of grass waving in the wind I'm ready to snooze. Sometimes the actors seemed clueless what to do with their time. Candidate for worst film I've ever seen.

The interviewer/star relationship seemed contrived from the start, and the NYT journalist with "a past" wasn't convincing. There were some laughs, some from sexual situations that may be funnier if you have a low laugh threshold, but overall not a big laugh riot, and not a compelling story. I like Chris Rock, but I'd say save your box office $ and see it later on the cheap.

This should be a Bill Murray classic. His character is like Nicholson in "As Good As It Gets", bad guy has some good qualities. The 'kid' is great, love him from the first line. Love the: "woman who works at night?". There's some cheesiness at times, but not overwhelming.

I only lasted 45 minutes. Things just didn't ring true. For instance, the cops first show up and there's this silly lighthearted banter going on, stupid irrelevant questions like "How long have you lived here?" I tried to give it some time, but I decided to pull the plug on this corpse. I usually read the worst reviews before I go, wish I had done so this time.

Don't expect great cinema here. Lame, cheesy, boring at times. A movie about Twitter, etc, first of all. And about someone rising from defeat and failure to do what he Really Loves to do, and connects with his son, and, oh yeah, a road trip movie. Feel-good?, yes, but again, done in such a poor manner.

This is my first movie review, inspired by how awful this movie was. I could spend some time but: 1) I already wasted 2 hours on it 2) I've already spewed it all to my wife 3) the other 0-1 rated views here have said it all and adequately. First time to not be enthralled by Amy Adams. Endless shots of a BIg City with Big Buildings. One final peave, why the shot of steam (that looks like smoke) come out of a manhole cover in a warm climate (woman with sleeveless dress in the same scene)
