Another great game from Obsidian. I enjoyed the references, style, humor, and characters. I'm not as picky as all the others here that are giving it low ratings. I can see a lot of other people are upset about fetch quests and that its small and bland, blah blah. This was a smaller budget game that isn't trying to go whaling on your wallet, and I am treating it as such. It certainly isn't perfect, but I do firmly believe the price of admission is worth it and companies that are trying to do things the right way deserve to be rewarded. It's sad that its come to this, with companies like EA, Take Two, and Ubisoft always scheming to milk every penny they can from the whales, but hopefully with good sales figures Obsidian and Microsoft will be willing to revisit The Outer Worlds with a big budget sequel.
*sigh* Just a soulless game.. its an absolute mess. I wish I could tell my younger self to just stop buying Bethesda games after Morrowind because its just a downward slope from there. Each subsequent release is just watered down, and half-baked story. In case of 76, the story never made it into the oven. Do we even need to discuss the "micro"transactions (more like major-transactions)? Do we even need to discuss all the public relations blunders and anti-consumerist practices? TL;DR Just don't buy, just....just don't do it.. You've been warned.
Terrible... absolutely terrible. This game is clearly designed to generate millions in MUT mode through micro-transactions and that's all EA cares about. All other game modes have no polish whatsoever. There is so much wrong with this game, there are plenty of videos that can show you better than I can try to explain with words. Do NOT buy.
The only thing this turd has going for it is the graphics, and all the mouth breathers get really excited about graphics, but gameplay trumps graphics all day long and this supposed "open environment" (which are still terribly small, but hey, that's all the consoles can handle)basically still equates to just another corridor console port. They could only squeeze 6 hours of campaign onto the console disc, and that's taking your time. Crysis 1 and Warhead are still superior in every way.
Honestly I enjoyed this expansion, even though its a console port, which is a rare thing for me as a PC Gamer. Some of this stuff should've been in the core came itself, but Firaxis probably had to milk us a little more and make the original Enemy Unknown fit for consoles. There's a few options added that can randomize your playthrough. The new maps are a welcomed addition, but unless your playing on the harder difficulties, by mid to late game you should have troops that steamroll anything, meaning that your most intense moments will come early on in your game. I'll rate this a 7, with an automatic deduction for being a console port.
people rating this a 10? get some standards. Played all the x games and truly X Rebirth is horrible. 7 years of development for this? what the hell were they doing? Pc gamers have the best controllers available, keyboard and mouse, joysticks, hotas, etc and you design an entire game around a console controller? Complexity? only a console owner would find this complex. Criminal. I'll give this game a 1 for trying to release something for the PC.
