l think calling this a game is generous. It's more a technical or art display. Which, if that is your thing, don't let me stand in your way, it's just not fun. A pretty walking sim.
The hardest part of this game to score is the learning curve. It's difficult. It's unlike pretty much any game I've played before and there is a lot to learn. If you're the type that likes to keep at it until it clicks and when it does, you feel accomplished, this may be the game for you, but it is a grind. I bounced off this came four times before I committed to figuring it out. The possibilities were too cool to ignore. That said, I'm 200 hours in have barely scratched the surface of what's available. If none of that sounds appealing to you, this is not the game for you. If it does, might be the last game you ever buy.
This game, I avoided it for years because it looked like a boring walking simulator. It came to PS+ and I decided to give it a try. It is exactly what it looks like. A boring walking simulator but for some reason, it is an experience that pulls you in and doesn't want to let go. I enjoyed every minute of this game. The story, the characters, the gameplay, the surprises. I wouldn't say it's a masterpiece but it was very enjoyable while it lasted.
This game is a mixed bag. Overall, I wish all the books I read were like this. Interactive, with things happening in the background. I've never played a game like this and it was a wonderful experience. The ending wasn't great. There are suggestions from the characters that something is going to happen after the ending sequence but then credits roll. It wasn't awful, but made you feel like you missed something. The game embraces the grammatically incorrect woke gender theory when it comes to pronouns that has plagued many aspects of society over the past several years, which makes it confusing at times as you read. They/Them are multiple, to suggest otherwise is grammatically incorrect and unnecessary, only adding frustration to an otherwise decent story. I would recommend this title, but it does disappoint in some aspects.
This game is going on my list of all time favorites. I acknowledge it isn't for everyone, cute yet dark, for me, it was perfect. I love the dark humor, the game play loop, I genuinely enjoyed this game threw and threw.
This game makes the list of my all time favorite games. I love dark humor and the cute critters of the game caught up in cultish and dark activities scratched that itch that had me chuckling to myself for hours. I got the platinum on this one and although a couple trophies were a little too hard in my opinion, that wasn't enough to stop me from the hours of enjoyment. If you like dark humor mixed with fun little indie games, this is for you.
Thoroughly enjoyed this game. I do like hunting trophies, though, and there are two that are bugged that very few people get, which was annoying, but since they're both bronze, didn't feel too bad. Definitely a grind at parts, but a perfect game to play while listening to podcasts.
This game is refreshing in the sense that it does things differently than most games. At the same time, that gives it a pretty steep learning curve and the game does not hold your hand, which can be frustrating for some. Stick with it, figure it out, and it becomes one of the most rewarding gameplay loops I've participated in and because I don't know how to do anything, it's made it more immersive for me in figuring everything out. I've enjoyed my time with this game and if you give it a shot, push through the opening learning curve, it's a really good time.
I know I'm late to the game, but this game is a masterpiece in my view. Too many games are trying to be too realistic these days instead of being what they are, games. This one has a compelling story, an interesting lead character, many diverse things to do, and again, it's a game that knows it's a game. For example, gas pumps work and there is no reason for them to. Finding gas would make this game much less fun if there weren't gas pumps. They balance it well to keep it fun. I would recommend this game to anyone.
This is a very good game. The lore, the world, the combat, it all drew me right in and was a lot of fun. That being said, there isn't a lot of reason to continue once you beat the game. You can keep doing the same stuff on more difficult settings and max your character, but that portion of the game is extremely repetitive. My wish for this game is that they make a second but, trying not to get into spoiler territory, before the planet ends up as it is.
This game is a lot of fun, especially for those who enjoy light-hearted simulators. It doesn't get too deep as far as mechanics go but there is always something to do and the rat race of it all keeps it fun and interested. If ever it gets too much, at the begging the game stresses the importance of just closing the store, take a breather, paint a wall. There is a lot of room for this game to grow if the developers decide to go that route but as it is, it's a very pleasant experience. Not something you would enjoy if you just intend to rush through it.
As a solo player, I think this game would probably be best enjoyed while playing with friends. That being said, I had an enjoyable time with this game and return to it from time to time when I want 30 minutes to an hour of simple fun. Grab your pickax, drop to a planet or asteroid, find minerals, kill bugs, build pumps, protect them, return to base, use what you found to upgrade your stuff and do it again. There is still a lot I haven't unlocked and there is more depth to the game than I at first realized. Progression seems a little slow. Many things seem to unlock when you get one of your dwarves to level 20 and after probably 15 hours of play, I'm at a level 8. Overall, I've had a lot of fun with this game and will likely continue to return to it from time to time over the coming months.
Needs a little more work with being ported from PC to Xbox. Some prompts still show keyboard keys. Game has obvious inspiration from many other games however it is in no way simply a copy of any game. It takes the best of many games and genres and combines them into a captivating, wonderful gaming experience. There is a bit of a learning curve at the beginning that could turn some from this game but after that, this game has no limits and will only get better as it continues development. I would highly recommend this game.
