Mad Max

This game is meant for lone rangers. Gamers who enjoy single player experiences. Mad Max is cinematic when you want it, grindy but fun when you just want to explore and full of surprises. I wish there was more polish on the game and that's why I give it a 9 vs a 10. Interestingly, it released in the same window as MGSV and there are many similarities between the games. Explore the world, accomplish a task, get a reward. Yet MGSV has loads more polish, more game modes and a larger world. Mad Max can get buggy and once you figure out how to fight certain foes the game seems repetitive. The car combat is what shines. IMO this is the best form of car combat on the market. Twisted Metal tried, but Mad Max achieved. It's a great rental for people who loved the movie--though the similarities are sparse. I am very happy to note that YOU CAN GO TO GAS TOWN! This was my big question coming into the game since the new movie only talks about Gas Town, but we don't see any real glimpses. If nothing else, try this game to play the car combat and experience Gas Town yourself!

High quality game. So happy to have discovered this franchise and since playing this I have played Burning Skies and purchased Resistance 2. (Burning Skies is very weak compared to this game tho). This game is fresh. You can carry more than 2 weapons, need to find health boosters instead of regaining health automatically and the story is really gritty. The enemies are gruesome and disgusting and downright scary from time to time. The gameplay is natural for the most part. I started this game playing with the Move sharpshooter and was much happier playing with a dualshock 3. The campaign is a good length, and very satisfying. The multiplayer is also a fresh take, though prepare to get slaughtered. People who started the multiplayer on day 1 have significant upgrades like shields and disguises so getting kills in order to rank up to level the playing field is going to take a lot of time and may lead to frustration. I play the mulitplayer just to change things up from CoD. If you own a PS3 system you should play this game. Maybe the best campaign I've ever played.

Best workout game. The movement accuracy is the best of any other game I've played for PS Move. Each match is short, but long enough to tire you out. Think of sprinting for a few minutes and then being able to catch your breath and regroup before doing another sprint. The DLC has helped me workout at my house and allowed me to improve my character's ability! I'm so thankful that I have stuck with this game, I've gotten great and challenging work outs, competition and it's fun. This is not a game you play to relax, you play it to relieve frustration, work up a sweat and tire yourself out so you can relax thinking how to beat the crap out of the other guy. I doubt they'll make a second one, but if I hear of it, I'm pre-ordering it asap. Oh and Danny Trejo is an awesome hard nosed trainer. This game is seedy and dirty and he does a great job!

Disappointed, bored and anti-climatic are all word I would use to describe this game. I got into it a bit and was truly scared, wowed and what-not, but I felt like the whole time I was just waiting for something magical to happen. I understand the point of the game is to underline the importance of a journey and not just the destination, but I was wanting to be done with the game and at the same time hoping something worthwhile was going to happen at the end. There are a few parts that are fun and engaging, but mostly this game is just boring. The graphics are good, but nothing amazing compared to other games. This game gets compared to Unfinished Swan. That game is high quality, this game is blah. Unfinished Swan has a real ending and leaves you feeling complete and successful. Journey does neither. I really don't want to play thru Journey again, but when you finish a game and only get 1 trophy, you're left to just wonder what you were supposed to do to get more trophies and think maybe I played the game the wrong way? I liked meeting other players, but found that aspect very confusing. Generally playing a game in a way that the developers wanted you to play gets you the most trophies, but I'm just confused. I can appreciate that this game is language and culture diagnostic, but it gives up all identity with it. There's reason to care about the traveler, but there's little understanding on where you going and why. This game is too short, too bland, too boring and I'm sad that I paid double for this than I paid for Unfinished Swan. Different experiences on playstation keep things fresh, but this is just underwhelming. If there wasn't so much hype, I would have enjoyed the game more. The hype kinda destroyed it, because I wanted an award winning experience. Telling me that this game is better than Unfinished Swan, Batman, Sound Shapes, Uncharted 3, Ghost Recon, Max Payne and the like is just false.
