Okay, so I think I finally understand this game. It's not just meant to pander to SJWs and trigger incels. It's a story coming from a group of developers that hate the company they work for and the industry they are in. They are trying to point out the hypocrisy of anyone that gives this game 10/10 or hates on it's female protagonists. Joel represents the popular culture of the past. Abby represents popular culture today. Ellie is their hope for the future. They want us to leave all this hate behind and make something new for ourselves. It's sad not just because of what the characters went through in this game, but what the devs went through to make it. This is a work of art from suffering artists. If you played through this whole game and only love or hate it because of the plot in this game world, then I'm sorry to say but you just got punked so the devs could make a point before collecting their bonus and leaving the company.

Perfect if not for the lack of a difficulty setting. Not everyone likes being repetitively punished by their video games. But otherwise it’s a work of art. If you are looking for a hard game then buy this one.

Nice graphics. Action oriented gameplay is great. But this is horribly unfinished. Narrative has been expanded with a bunch of trash to make a 20 hour play through into a 60 hour one. Lots of issues with random low res textures and low res models. The game is unreasonably hard on normal difficulty. Designed to force you to make your way through the game at a slow pace. Lots of boring side quests that slow the game down further. Good luck trying to skip them on normal difficulty though. Midgar should have been streamlined into a 15-20h tops.

Hasn’t really aged that well. Good gameplay sometimes but it’s usually too slow and tedious. Character expression is lacking and dialog is often too simple and wasteful.

Save your money. Don’t buy this. Very shallow and broken gameplay. Difficulty gives an illusion of depth but the truth is the gameplay is dumb and random. There is no strategy or skill here. Just mindless swiping and hoping for better luck next run.

GTX 980 Ti runs the game beautifully. It plays like something meant to show off hardware and it excels at that. As an open world game where you get to be the bat it's a lot of fun. The best part of this game is just flying/driving around randomly and looking for thugs to hunt down. The cinematic moments are beautiful and the game's major action scenes live up to the best in the industry. I feel like they could have given the player more choice on how to proceed or made quests and puzzles more logical. It feels like I have to rely on chance when discovering things. Plus we get stuck using the bat mobile every time the game wants to show it off. Story and facial animation are lacking.

As an art piece it's great. If you actually intend on playing the thing for a while **** will quickly discover how much of a chore the game puts you through by repetitively walking through the same environments looking for a "key" to get through the next "door". It gets very old very fast. Just watch the trailers, or buy it for iOS as a bit of a distraction. Don't waste your time on the PC version.

Great game but many of the puzzles are extremely cryptic and require many guides on the internet to figure out. Worth playing for the graphics/sound/level design. However I ran into the same save game corruption bug after getting gold on countless platforms. Now I have to start again from scratch. Deleted the game from my hard drive.
