The Secret Life of Pets10

This movie had our whole family, ages five, eight, twelve, fourteen, laughing from beginning to end. There are so many dynamic/comic details that keep you engaged, even if you are not focused on the main characters.

The Raid: Redemption6

The story was so so, felt like a plot that would be more appropriate for a short story. However, the movie still entertaining, its the non stop action that kept me engage.

Son of Rambow4

The theme of this story is really good. Unfortunately it is only accomplished through excessive unnecessary foul language, random violence and drug use. Content which could had been avoided without compromising the experience of the movie.

We're the Millers10

Had not laughed this hard since I first saw the first hang over film. The whole theater (which was full) appear to agree with me that night. Enjoyed it.

Grown Ups 25

Saw all the bad ratings and was hesitant to watch the movie, but was the only comedy movie available at the time. It had enough moments to keep the crowd laughing. If they would had not overdone some jokes then I may have even considered a positive review.

The Master3

Although it appears that others do appreciated the pace of the film, If found it too slow for my liking. Had no other option to stop less than half way and give up on it.

The Impossible6

It blew me away that this movie is based on true events, but for cinematic purposes the build at the ending was lacking something. Overall enjoyable.

Oz the Great and Powerful7

Had our family smiling and managed to keeps us engaged. The darkness may be to strong for those that are younger than 8-9 or so... Exceeded my low expectations.

Django Unchained9

Action packed film with funny moments and an entertaining story. Really enjoyed it, but can't speak for my other friends who are not that into gory scenes.

John Dies at the End3

I might be really biased, I actually read and really liked the the book, but the first half of the movie was enjoyable. On the other hand, towards the end it just took a wrong turn. Felt like they rush the end. The cheap effects at the end didn't help either.

Madea's Witness Protection5

A step down from other Tyler Perry films, but did however have its funny moments. However a lot of the humor was unusually raunchy, so less friendly to the church people in my circle. Glad I rented it and didn't watch it at the movies. Then again, never seen a Tyler Perry film at the movies. So, if your a fan of Tyler Perry, maybe you'll appreciated more than I did.

Life of Pi10

The plot kept me engage and the visual effects lived up to the hype. Was puzzled why many people told me the it was too long. Luckily that didn't stop me from going. Then again I was a fan of Slumdog Millionaire, not sure if that has anything to do with it. Bottom line, loved it.

Here Comes the Boom8

The only comedy movie at the local theatre, so went in with low expectations. So, to my surprise, this was a really funny family, action, comedy movie that kept me engage from start to finish. Although the plot at times seemed to lack substance, it held through as the funny moments outweigh the bad ones. If you have enjoyed other films by Kevin James, then this one is no different.
