Many people don't like Aloy's look, but I happen to like her design. It's everything else in the game that I have problems with. NPCs in this game are the most boring and robotic I've ever seen in any open world games. The entire world is soulless. This game is everything wrong about modern AAA games. The puzzles are badly shoved into the game with Aloy yapping all the time about the hints which is an immediate deal breaker for me in any game with puzzles. It deserved much more criticism than Dragon Age Veilguard and it's insane how it got such a high media score. I can only give this game a higher score if they cut everything else besides fighting mech dinosaurs.
The customization of creatures, spaceships and buildings is amazing. A journey of evolution. One of the most unique games I've ever played. Different stages of history are different games, but they are all connected. It makes me understand more about our planet, our universe. It's a real work of art. I think this game is the 2001 Space Odyssey of video games.
Best open world city ever. And it's not a GTA city that's just a small version of the real life one, it's an entirely fictional futuristic city with the best lore and characters and NPCs. You just need to forget about your "futuristic GTA" assumption to understand how great this game is.
A bit overpraised currently but I'd be lying if I say it isn't a super fun game. Massive amount of content and the details. The way they added all the cinematic cutscenes into the dialogue shows how much they respect video game as its unique medium. The story is half good and half bad, which makes it not a 10/10 in my opinion, because some companions such as Wyll and Halsin are handled terribly. The Emperor came out as an interesting character but they failed to write an interesting ending for its story. But at least you have the freedom to recruit or kill any companion you want except for that annoying squid.
It's a good game with a great story and great details but it's also overrated. Despite the good part, this game lacks innovation. The quest designs are the same as Rockstar's former games, strictly scripted, without the story it's basically a riding hunting fishing simulator, it can be fun at times, but these elements are not the ones to make the best game ever. Being great in details doesn't equal being the greatest game in the aspect of creativity. I truly wish this can change when they release GTA6 in the future.
Camera angle is incredibly stupid. I hope they didn't forget that they were making a video game. Because this doesn't feel like a video game to me. It feels like they made the cutscenes first then made a video game to fit those scenes in, and of course with super dull level designs and abnoxious **** puzzles. When playing this game, I'm always wondering why am I playing Kratos but not Lara Croft. Why this literal god can't jump across a bridge without doing some **** puzzles. Also, having a child following you through the entire action game is one of the stupidest idea ever. As much as I like the character, can you imagine having child Ciri following Geralt throughout the entire game of Witcher 3? This is an action adventure game, not a family sitcom.
Witcher 3 demonstrates the best way to tell stories in a video game. It doesn't shove movie cutscenes in front of you like Red Dead Redemption or new God of War, instead it lets you experience and make your own choices. Witcher 3's quest design proves that different choices with unknown consequences is the best way to mimic real life in a game. Just like the poem by Robert Frost said: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference.
Very boring story and character design, but the combat, environment aesthetic, music are great, so it still ends up to be a really fun game. It could've been so much better if only the character design can match 2b and Bayonetta but they chose to be lazy on that part which is a shame.
The ceiling for rpg storytelling and this entire art form called video game. Fairy tales with different choices and endings fascinatingly told in the best dlc ever made.
Was very intrigued in this steampunk soulslike but end up disappointed. Too much plagarism of dark souls. Even fromsoftware's own games, such as Bloodborne or Sekiro, they can be more different than Dark Souls and more creative than this game. The level designs are basically just a lesser version of a fromsoftware game, dull, slow and repeatetive with mediocre aesthetics and gameplay. There's no strong expression of the steampunk theme either. When fromsoftware made Bloodborne, Sekiro and Elden Ring, they all felt like different games with their own style. Lies of P couldn't form a style of its own. If you compare it to dark souls, you see a copycat trying to act different. If you compare it to Bioshock or Dishonored, you'll find a game that fails to convey a fascinating worldview and story theme. Mediocracy at its finest.
