Black swan is the most beautiful and interesting film of the year from a genius as Derren Aronofsky.Nina Sayers is a young professional dancer in the New York city ballet company that dreams to become the prime ballerina in the new production of the Swan lake by the artistic director Leroy(Vincent **** has an obsessive mother,Erica(Barbara Hershey), that makes her life somewhat complicated as she is driven by jealousy towards her daughter. After the former prime dancer Beth Macintyre(Winona Ryder) is forced to retire by Leroy,Nina successfully is cast as Odette, the swan **** a mysterious new dancer Lily(Mila Kunis)becomes her most dangerous rival.Darren Aronovsky is a master. One of the greatest director out **** direction is visionary and everything but **** pace of the film is really engaging and the script has truly original **** movie has really absorbing moments as the transformation of Nina in the Black swan and her desperation that it is difficult to not be **** depiction of her obsession for the perfection and increasing mental disorder is quite **** soundtrack is outstanding although it's not original but it's taken from the **** it adds to the general beauty of the film and express the characters feeling and the roles they have in the story. Natalie Portman,in her first adult role, excels as the leading character. This is her most complex role and she is exceptional and her first great turn after **** Oscar Award was completely deserved. Mila Kunis is adequate to the role, but honestly I didn't catch all the praises she gained for her **** role is the easiest and she is an average actress. Vincent Cassel plays "extremely" well the same character(that is inspired by his own personality)in every movie. That's **** not too much I have to say. Barbara Hershey is truly a gem and she deserved more recognition for her complex role ,she is never over the top although her role could have been played with **** is a really great **** should have been nominated for an Oscar. Winona Ryder,in her brief role as the fallen prime dancer, was a scene **** only three scenes she is haunting, damned, desperate, intoxicated and angry and was truly **** vote is 10/10

A Dangerous Method

It's always difficult to review a movie based on psychology because sometimes what's difficult to understand is too easily categorized as illogical or bad execution.I heard so much criticism towards the last movie by Cronenberg.I completely disagree with those bad reactions."A dangerous method"is a brilliant ,absorbing and thought provoking movie that boasts excellent performances by the three leading **** direction is great and Cronenberg once again shows his uncommon ability to tell a story in a very original way although the dialogs are sometimes hard to follow, probably due to its **** there are really breathtaking moments such as the scenes of the Spielrein therapy. This leads me to Knightley **** was a brave, shocking and terrific performance that it was criticized without a reason.I didn't catch all that **** has always been so good("Pride e prejudice","Atonement" and "Never let me go")but here she left her comfort zone to bare herself and gives one of the most exiting performances of the year.Oscar worthy material.Fassbender was equally great in the role of Jung and it's a pleasure to watch this splendid rising A-list actor.Mortensen was good but I fear not as good as Fassbender and Knightley.Cassell is always ****'s a good actor but he plays always the role of the daring man.I think that "A dangerous method" is one of the best movies of the **** succeeds to transcend from his particular story to focus on the hidden instincts associated with the human **** vote is 8/10

On the Road

It must have been difficult for Walter Salles to adapt a timeless and acclaimed novel as "On The Road" by Jack Kerouac. The result is a fascinating and punctual film that very well describe the heart and soul of the beat generation and the emotional journey of Sal Paradise-Jack Kerouac(Sam Riley) and the decisive meeting with the free-spirited and deeply chaotic Dean Moriarty-Neal Cassidy (Garret Hedlund) with his wife Marylou (Kristen Stewart),whom he had a very troubled relationship. The film also introduces other key characters as Carlo Marx-Allen Ginsberg (Tom Sturridge), famous poet of the beat generation Camille-Carolyn Cassidy (Kirsten Dunst), second Moriarty's wife and Old Bull Lee-William S.Borroughs (Viggo Mortensen), poet and artist. The film manages to express the feelings and emotions of the two leading characters played extremely well by Sam Riley and Garrett Hedlund. As for Kristen Stewart, her performance is really good even though her role doesn't offer much memorable scenes in terms of acting. Nevertheless, she is able to express her inner desire of a normal life with children. Tom Sturridge is also very well involved and plays effectively his role with some important scenes. Viggo Mortensen and Kirsten Dunst are really amazing in their limited screen times. Particularly, Dunst was truly commanding in a scene involving her and Hedlund arguing about father's duties. Walter Salles creates a suggestive atmosphere that is one of the winning point of his adaptation. Nonetheless, the films is a little difficult to follow due to his prolongation in some adventures of the two men. The soundtrack is another important element in the film and express the situation involving Sal and Dean. My vote is 8/10.

The movie begins with the wedding party of Justine(Kirsten Dunst)and Michael(Alexander Skarsgard)arranged by her sister Claire(Charlotte **** what could have been a perfect party becomes an absurd evening due to the increasing depression symptoms of Justine.Meanwhile a planet threatens to collide into the earth. Although this movie is surely the most accessible among the movies by Von Trier, some audiences will find it boring and meaningless due to the slowly pace of the movie and its controversial **** I think this is one of the best movies of the year with remarkable performances and a beautiful story of characters that makes you feel every inner ****'s not a predictable portrait of emotions that are often bad portrayed in other movies of mental illness and **** if you expect dynamic don't watch **** Trier is a master and I am sorry for his bad reputation of egomaniac and daring director of movies made only for narrow **** nobody can deny that he is one of the most original and fascinating director out there."Melancholia" is a stunning and captivating movie, impossible to forget.I dare to say it's art because there are some poetical moments and moving scenes that are ****'s almost **** Wagner music elevate this powerful experience. This movie is occasionally too meaningful to be caught by some people who will find it difficult but **** acting is absolutely great.Kirsten Dunst is terrific in her complex **** proved she is an A-level young actress and her win at the last Cannes film festival is completely **** Oscar nomination would be a must for the Academy although I fear that they will snub her in favor of more stereotyped performances and due to the lack of a big studio behind it.Charlotte Gainsbourg is amazing as well even if her role is less **** supporting cast(Kiefer Sutherland,Charlotte Rampling,John Hurt and Stellan Skarsgard)is equally **** vote of the movie is 8/10.

Blue Valentine

The movie focus is the depiction of a broken marriage between two working class people,Dean and Cindy. What could have been a great movie becomes a failed occasion to portray an emotionally absorbing tale of an ended love story(as it was in a terrific movie such "Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind"). Despite the movie boasts great performances by the two leading actors, particularly by Williams, the big problem is the lack of a solid script that doesn't offer the chance to know about the characters and their love story.I would not call them insignificant informations because when you decide to make a movie about a couple and their fallen marriage you have to provide the audience of a plausible explanation of their relationship.Without that we struggle to be involved with the two leads. With "Blue Valentine" we exactly don't know why they fell in love and why after years they can't stand each other and why their love **** are left with a series of disjointed bouncing back and forth scenes of their former happy days that have not much to say, except that they go quite well together in the first chapters and scenes of their declined **** I said before, the acting is solid(to compensate the holes in the script).Ryan Gosling was very good but it's Michelle Williams who gives a great performance that is the best thing of the entire **** deserved her Oscar nomination for her outstanding performance.Gosling portrays a man who tries to understand why her wife doesn't love him anymore and a good father although he has a scantly work that clearly makes Cindy feel quite disappointed and he is often drunk.I suspect that Cianfrance takes the side of the female lead although she is the most unlikeable of both of the leading characters and due to the troublesome script we hardly understand why she was in love and why she became so cold towards her husband.I simply found "Blue Valentine" the most overrated movie of 2010 and I don't know if this movie wouldn't have struggled to win many praises if it wasn't for the Weinstein **** vote of the movie is 5/10.

I believe that there was too much criticism towards a very good comedy, certainly better than other comedies sold as great(take The holiday for **** dilemma features a great cast,an interesting story and a really good **** could this comedy have gained so much haters is beyond my comprehension.Ronny(Vince Vaughn)and Nick(Kevin James)are best friends working on a ambitious project as auto designers that would launch their **** Ronny discovers Geneva(Winona Ryder),wife of Nick, cheating on him with another **** he has to find how to tell his best friend about the unexpected truth. Ron Howard is not new to comedy territory(Splash for example)and in my opinion he manages to entertain the **** movie boasts really hilarious moments and good reflections on friendship and marriage with a light tone that is natural for comedy.Even if there are few predictable aspects I enjoyed the movie for what it is.I think that critics and audience missed the point because I've seen not so much good comedies about that. Vince Vaughn is the heart and the soul of the movie.I found him really good and I believe that he is an underrated actor. They should give him more opportunities to show his abilities. Kevin James is adequate to his role that is not too demanding. Jennifer Connelly has a pointless role as the Ronnie's ****'t get me wrong.I think she is a really amazing actress and she plays well **** her role is a bit useless except her mission to make Ronnie a more honest man about what's happening . Winona Ryder has the juiciest and the more complex role as the cheating **** was exceptional and **** proved why she deserves to be still today a leading actress and not to be pushed only in supporting roles and little parts. She embodies not a stereotyped character but a selfish, occasionally nasty but with a soul within the surface woman.I hope this will be a comeback for her. So good story, good direction, good script and a perfect **** vote is 7/10

Elizabethtown is a great and hilarious comedy with many reflections of how to appreciate life and understand what's really important in life. This movie tries to bring an interesting message. To me Cameron Crowe succeeded brilliantly. I don't understand all of the criticism towards the movie because I believe that the people and critics who disliked this movie simply weren't open about the main concept and somewhat skeptical. I hear many people saying that Elizabethtown is the worst copy of Garden state. Indeed I believe that it's totally the opposite thing because I believe that Elizabethtown is far superior. This movie has really precious ****'s easy to sympathize with the leading character. Bloom,Dunst and Sarandon gave truly great performances.Orlando Bloom is for the first time rightly cast and I must say I found him really good.Kirsten Dunst was perfect and her performance is not always easy as it would seem. Susan Sarandon was really amazing and is the protagonist of a really funny but nevertheless moving sort of monologue that is the point of the entire movie. Cameron Crowe shows once again that he's a very original director. Simply one of the best of our generation. To enjoy Elizabethtown you have to abandon every last easy judgment. This movie is one of the most original in the recent ****'s not a romantic comedy as it was ****'s about life, hope, love and how to deal with the difficulties of **** how sometimes you need to search of your own origins to build a new **** I was moved by that concept.

All Good Things

"All good things" is a brilliant absorbing and ultimately provocative drama thriller with a good direction and amazing performances by the three leading **** reminded in a way "Revolutionary Road" because we have the portrait of the desire of a perfect existence and the subsequent broken dreams of a couple. But in "All good things" not every reasons are explained because the director is telling a real story(the names of the characters in the movie were changed)that is still a mystery and the leading actor of this drama is an enigma. David Marks(Ryan Gosling)son of a powerful real estate man(Frank Langella)tries to establish a perfect and peaceful life with his wife Kathie(Kirsten Dunst)by avoiding his duties in the family business(legal and **** it won't be easy for him to resist at the pressure by his strong father and he will be forced to take part of the ominous projects of his persuasive father.Besides, his increasing psychological problems will destroy his life with his **** second part of the movie is a shocking and bizarre look at the last years of the disturbed man and the homicides of his two **** the movie becomes a sort of "Psycho". What we see is the results of murder investigations. I liked the mixture of themes such love, corruption, madness, mystery and murder and Andrew Jarecki did very well in showing the growth and reasons of the characters, although David remains an enigma in many of his actions.I really liked the details he offered and I was drawn from the beginning to the **** movie is predictable in some parts but in the last one is a real unexpected turn.Ryan Gosling was great in playing a troubled man and I was moved by the portrayal of this poor soul that had no chance to live in peace with himself. Also he shows some sinister sign of madness that are really overwhelming. Kirsten Dunst was simply terrific in portraying a victim of the husband and his powerful family but also an ambitious woman who tried to get advantages by the the whole situation in terms of the prospect of a wealthy **** her amazing acting she should have been nominated for an Oscar.Frank Langella was really good in the role of the cold and manipulative **** three characters are really complex and not easily categorized."All good things"is probably one of the most appealing and interesting movie of the **** has real great and original moments and although it doesn't provide an easy solution to the case it is not a distracting thing in my opinion(since it's still an open case).
