Better Call Saul1
Apr 24, 2020
Possibly one of the most overrated series currently on TV. The script is repetitive, the dialogues are boring and any sparkle of fun and humour that used to be linked to the Saul persona is gone. It's like a second-rate, legal drama, where legal tricks are debated endlessly, while in the background some Mexican gang causes a little trouble. No fun, no suspence, no thrills. PS and if somebody implies "you have to understand it" ... this is entertainment, one is supposed to enjoy it without needing to consult an instruction manual first...

Versailles7
Mar 10, 2020
This is a lavish production shot on location and merely for the visual aspect it would deserve a 10. Everything is beautiful, refined and sophisticated in Louis world. We also get the ugly side, following his chief of police and, in the third series, we finally catch a glimpse of Paris and the life of the common people and we definitely want to go back to Versailles. Definitely not historically accurate, the plot compress events that took place during the course of decades and invents other for entertainment's sake. The multitude of characters is intriguing and flawed, full of contradictions, like real human beings. Shame about the ending. The last episode of series 3 is a major letdown. Not much makes sense with the behaviour of the main characters who all seemed ready for a change, but end up in the same old rut and making absurd choices. With a better ending it would have been a 9 or even a 10.

Anne with an E0
Mar 10, 2020
The first series was almost OK, although the Anne character can get annoying quickly with all her chattering away and her possible PTSD. It collapsed miserably with the second and third series, which are just a series of lessons in the ultra-politically correct: you get the full load of same-sex relationships glorification; super sad stories of Afro-American discrimination; child abuse; feminist issues etc.. In the last series we get the trousers-wearing, Anne-clone (Miss Stacy) starting a relation with Bash, so we can add inter-racial pairing and of course the Native (Indians?) question, more child abuse and the last two episodes, pushing the flaccid Anne-Gilbert relation beyond contrived. Misunderstandings piling up by the dozen, while Anne always does the right thing shouting it out for everybody to hear.
